I visited this memorial museum on 10/14/2018,and I was the only visitor during my 30-min visit there. There were a few more when I left.
This is a terrible tragedy during World War II, and an important lesson for all of us.
My first observation is the survival ratios: only 7% of children survived while 72% of crew and 49% of soldiers survived this tragedy. Not sure about the reason, and this is certainly a topic worth further study of the culture at that time.
While the memorial museum provides the "fact" of the tragedy, there was no "context" about why it happened and what led to this tragedy. If we do not know "why", talking about peace is just an illusion. Also if we do not talk about "why", I am not sure what the lesson we could learn from it.
The exhibits and audio/video are in Japanese only although it has brochure is English, Chinese, and Korean. Later I watched a YouTube clip, and it does have English caption to help me understand it. The museum should do the same.
