Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Beautiful setting and reconstructed longhouses but not all have staff to explain the nuances of the houses. There are placards with QR codes but I didn’t want to spend my battery so signs with text would have been much more preferred!! The 45-minute dance performance at the end was a highlight. Beautiful costumes and music. The ticket is quite expensive but slightly cheaper if bought online.

There is also a poor, whelping scruffy, medium terrier milling around. Please someone feed it!! And eventually spay. Shame on the site management for not caring for this poor pup.

The riverfront esplanade has a bit of something for everyone. Lots of shops, food stalls, light shows, and impressive buildings lining the river. Definitely worth a visit if in Kuching!

I was visiting Kuching, Sarawak, MALAYSIA (Borneo Island) early in December 2023. And there was this tallest flag pole in the country recently constructed and completed. Ready for official opening in the eve of the New Year 2024. Wonderful scene. Great activities along the waterfront (Sarawak River). Lots of local foods and western foods as well. Must visit!

A good place for a jog especially in the early morning and late evening. Best place to take a walk at night time with friends and family.

This is a nice stretch of street to walk about, buy some local stuff and great food. Parking can be a challenge and crowded during peak hours.

A good short visit to a small temple, free entry and you only need 10-15 mins to see it all. Makes for some good photos. Situated in middle of roundabout.

For me, getting to the longhouse was the best part. Myself and a fellow traveller hired a driver/guide to do a day tour including Semenggoh Nature Reserve and two long houses. Annah Rais was interesting to see, people seemed friendly considering the volume of tourists they must normally see (tourism way down because of COVID, few weeks before lockdown). The drive to Annah Rais was beautiful, the highlight of the day. We made many stops to explore and take photos along the way.

This place is architecturally pleasing. There is a decent small museum and places to eat and drink. This is opposite the waterfront.

My son is a reptile lover and he loves this place. I don’t think there is many places where you can see this many crocodiles. They have some random and sad looking birds, and some goats around but the highlight was the crocodiles. We missed the feeding time but my son enjoyed it nonetheless.

The best view of the mosque is from the Kuching bridge over the river during the sunset. You can get the whole city background in the pic.

In front of Sheraton Hotel there is a monument with nine cats. These animals gave the name of the city, locals love them. James Brook came up the river in the XIXth century, arriving at a village known as Sarawak, which lay on a small stream called Cat's eye. This man changed the name from Sarawak to Kuching (kucing= cat).

Easy to get to being to only a 30 minute walk from the Waterfront and situated in a nice suburban area Jalan Song, the park is tidy compact and well organized. Two parts to the park , one the introduction to the other states in Malaysia and the other Chinese Tea Pavilion, and zig zag bridge overlooking the large pond. The pond is full of huge Koi Carp and other colorful fish. Around the park is a walk way /jogging track.

The Sarawak State Assembly Building is a grand, spectacular structure on the banks of the Sarawak River. It was completed in 2009 and rises an impressive 115 meters in height, with a unique 9-pointed star cross-section design. The building is best appreciated at night, when it is bathes with fabulous lighting.

As this is the official residence of the Governor of Sarawak, the palace is not opened to visitors. The only time it is opened is during the Hari Raya celebration where the gate is open to visitors. Very attractive grounds outside.
