Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What travellers are saying
- AleksandarBelgrade, Serbia8,215 contributionsGreat architectural style of this building clearly marks the importance which was once placed in the field of written word.
Near the Nevsky prospekt and easy to locate.Written 27 December 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. It costs about 300 rubles to reach this place by Uber during the day and about 500 rubles at night. Local taxis charge about 800 rubles. The nearest metro station is about 6 Km away. There is a shuttle to metro station which I did not find very reliable since it does not ply at night. So if you are a tourist staying in the hotels here you might have to cater extra money for the taxi especially if you want to experience the nightlife at Nevsky prospect area. Having said this if anyone is visiting the city to attend the congress held at this area this is the best place to stay. The hotels are rrally good ant the place is close to the airport.Written 18 June 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. You may come here for free at working time (try to get clean shoes with you to change from the street or shoe covers like for hospital). Inside you may see saved interiors from 1909, even the windows and details!Written 22 January 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Quack HHONG KONG2,810 contributionsThere are several City Tourist Information Offices in St Petersburg, one of them near St Issac Cathedral, one near Hermitage and another one in Ploschad Vosstania. Since I stayed in Ploschad Vosstania area, I looked for places and transportation methods from the Tourist Office. Thank you to the staff, they speak good English, nice and helpful to tourists.Written 20 August 2017This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
