Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This place has been promoted as a must-visit hawker street for tourists. Unfortunately, the food sold here do not represent Malaysian food. When you come here, you’re going to see restaurants serving Thai food (which you can get in Bangkok), Chinese food (which you can get from China, Hong Kong or Taiwan), or Korean food (which you will get from, yes, South Korea). Just look at the red tanglung hanging, you’d think you’re in China right? So where can you get true, authentic Malaysian food? Go to Kampung Baru. It’s a modern-day village selling authentic Malaysian food. Find these food to try: Nasi Lemak, Rendang, Laksa, Bihun Sup, Asam Pedas, Satay with Kuah Kacang, Lontong, Mee Rebus, Mee Kari, Mee Goreng Mamak, Roti Canai, Nasi Ayam, Hainanese Chicken Rice, Char Koey Teow, Wantan Mee, Pan Mee, Nasi Kerabu, Nasi Dagang. However, if you see Nasi Geprek, Ayam Penyet, Bakso, Soto - these are all Indonesian food. Better go next door (Indonesia) and try the real ones for these. Enjoy!

    Huge mall!
A lot of high end stores. Not for the budget traveller, but still some options for them also. Nice looking mall. Plenty of places to eat. Next to KLCC PARK and right under the Petronas towers.

My brother brought my friend and I to visit this amazing temple. It is very crowded during Chinese New Year the traffic was so congested and we have to turn around.
It is a very divine and spiritual place to visit for me as a Chinese descent.

Really excellent market with lots of great little shops selling local goods such as jewellery and baskets and sandals and clothes. Everything is so cheap here. There are also some food outlets

The new Panda Eyes multistore dominates the sleepier stretch of this short street where most tourists will find themselves. For classier shopping there is Pavilion at the other end and many restaurants in between. The popular outdoor food court is down a lane among the budget accomodation.

This was one of the stops in Central Market area and the first Indian Temple visit for this trip in KL. It actually was quieter inside than I expected.

They were very strict with ensuring no shoes were worn inside or even carried in the hands or inside a bag. A bunch of carts were in front selling various combinations of offerings for the temple.

Once inside we walked through two floors. The first floor was very bright with colorful tiles, gold trims used throughout. On the second floor, the windows gave views of the statues mounted on the rooftop.

We spent about 15 minutes inside.

As the title suggests, not a great deal has changed over the years in Chinatown. I did notice on my recent visit that there is now a roof covering much of the area. I cannot remember seeing this on my last visit. Although that was quite a few years ago.
Probably because on The Internet I did not spot a single vendor selling D.V.Ds. However, there are still more than enough stalls selling cheap watches to please even the most fastidious visitor. There appear to be more stalls selling pirated clothing and accessories now than before, but then again it could very well be because of my not being here for a while. As before though, this place is heaving, and it is difficult to wander among some of the stalls because of so many visitors.
One thing that has always tickled us is the chap selling roast chestnuts right in the middle of Chinatown. Roasted chestnuts are not something normally associated with a tropical country like Malaysia.
