Everytime in Fortaleza/Ceará, I have chance to visit that calm place, with "barracas/Kiosks" serving lobster, schrimp, many offer of fishes, "caipirinhas" and very cold beer. But from distance the beach is Ok, but main attraction was the fresh water lake next to beach. You can rent a sail boat for nominal $16-17 USD (60 BRL) and enjoy the lake. You can swim behind the boat. The water is clear but lake has blackish bottom due to vegetation. So it may not appear but swimming and sailing in it was a lot of fun. A lot of people do kite surfing due to lake being shallow. Makes great backdrop for pictures due to colorful boats, kites and dunes. Recommend visiting. Also dunes near this beach are great, better than more famous side of Fortaleza. I like to drive my dune buggy there. Cars are allowed to the left, while they are restricted to the right, in front of the beach barracas.
There is a trail with exciting ups and downs. I like to take the trail first and come back, if I can catch the low tide, real fast just by the water edge.
