It is in walking distance - about 1 mile to the Rio Hotel by Bourbon Campinas , a brand new Hotel with great service.Written 27 August 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - vitorbabrazilSalvador, BA9,313 contributionsThis well-maintaned church at the heart of downtown attracts masses for the daytime services.
Jacaranda prevails inside and the acoustics is simply great.Written 30 November 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The facility is easy to reach and astronomic events can bee observed there.
It's very cold out there, specially in clear nights, so take your "countermeasures".
Parking is available an the entrance fee, symbolic.
It's worth the trip, although the opening times very restrict.

There's a small zoo and two museums, only open on weekdays.Written 30 November 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. At lunchtime (12:30 pm) they do military drills before they eat, so start it around 11:30 am. It's a beautiful walking tour around the plaza. My Brazilian family's reaction to the outing was, at first skeptical, then curious and in the end, totally impressed. This was the first year the school admitted female cadets.Written 19 May 2017This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - fredleal42Campinas, SP88 contributionsA very scenic road leads to this nice green area near Campinas. The drive itself is already an attraction, but once you get there you can choose to explore the area by foot, bike or motorcycle. The downside is that not all visitors are conscious and you will see some trash thrown in the woods.Written 25 April 2015This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Tobias1968Winterthur, Switzerland146 contributionsI love markets, as they tell a lot about a society. This Market Hall is fairly big and you find pretty much everything for daily needs. Butchers, Fish stands, fruits and vegetables, leather goods you name it.
What I found quite disturbing were the stands selling folding knifes that also had coshs on display (... these things are illegal pretty much anywhere else). Around the maket Hall you find African-Brazilian stores and also places where you’d find counterfeit Football shirts etc.Written 10 September 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. They have some concerts there once in a while.
Its official name is "Praça Ulisses Guimarães", but everybody calls is "Pedreira do Chapadão" (Chapadão's quarry, "Chapadão" being the name of the neighborhood.)
There's not much to do besides walking. It's a pleasant walk, though. Good to bring kids of any age. There is some playground equipment like swings, slides and seesaws.
There's an ice cream shop in the park and a couple of other places to eat and drink across the street.Written 16 October 2016This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
