Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

- Amrita CAbu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates7 contributionsBreathtaking view of the river along with small boat tours and street foods to explore. the river is so green that soothes your eyes.Written 27 November 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - anoellehBarcelona, Spain138 contributionsAstonishing and breathtaking wiews from Xianggong Mountain, specially at the sunrise!!
Make sure you arrive there a half an hour before the sunrise so you can get up to the top and have a good place. It doesn't matter if it's summer or winter, the spot is always crowded!
I recommend to spend 1 night near this spot, only to see the views, and then to spend 2 nights more in Yangshuo or along Li River to take the bamboo rafts to enjoy one of the most inspiring landscapes in China!Written 10 December 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Go down to the river at the end of the street and admire the granite pavement (but lots of tat here) Be sure to haggle with the vendors anywhere along the street, quite a lot of repeated shop types..Written 24 November 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - JayZee33Toronto, Canada208 contributionsVery difficult climb in the heat. Humid and hot. All shaded climbing, but very humid of course. One lovely local farm lady who was 65 made the climb with our family, fanning us at times, and giviing us correct estimations on timelines up the hill. She offered cold drinks at the top of the hill for reasonable prices. After a solid hike we were happy to support her efforts and camaraderie. Fantastic views at the top...just behind the moon. Worth it...but be prepared for the hike. My 6 year old loved it...saw it as a challenge. You can do it!Written 21 July 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Douglas MGuangzhou, China3,145 contributionsThe Romance Park is about a 10-minute drive south-east from Vienna Hotel, (West Street branch) in Yangshuo town. There was flyer for the attraction in the hotel lobby, and I expect most hotels will one. Also, there is usually someone sitting at a desk in the hotel lobby who will book tickets for all the attractions in the area.
At the hotel or wherever, book a taxi to and from the attraction. Yangzhuo is exactly bursting with taxis. Maybe hire an electric scooter (¥30 a day), and ride there.
Scooters with a sidecar are also for hire. There are plenty of places in the town hiring them. My wife flatly refused my plea to hire one.
Note: There is a chain of Romance Parks in China. We visited the Guangdong Romance Park earlier this year (TA reviewed).
Expect to pay around ¥320 for an ordinary ticket, and ¥400 for a VIP ticket. The show lasts for an hour, and there are two shows a day, at four o’clock and at seven o’clock. There are other things to see and entertain you before or after the show, as well as numerous local fast-food outlets to occupy you before and after the show.
Try and catch the man performing with water-jet hose, I’ve no idea what it’s called, on the small lake. He’s brilliant!
Tip: If you sit near the front, you’ll miss the performers flying onto stage, running down the walls, or processing down the aisles. We sat rather far back, even then there were 30 or more rows of seats behind us, and got a good view.
The park opens at 2 o’clock and shuts at 9 o’clock. Obviously, times and prices will change.
We went on a Thursday and the place was heaving with groups of well-organized and behaved first-school students. They didn’t go to the show, which was a pity as I think they’d have enjoyed the brilliant 3D visual effects, music, singing and dancing. Be aware the music is loud, and the lighting is bright. The show is about Guilin culture and history, it's all in Chinese, however there’s a short intro video with English subtitles.
I’m still baffled how the water an actor was standing in on the stage appeared and disappeared so quickly!
Expect to spend a good three hours or more at Guilin Romance Park.
When we exited the show at five o’clock all the first-year students had left, and the place felt deserted. Our pre-booked taxi was waiting for us and took us back to the Vienna hotel. Later, we again strolled down Xi Jie in Yangshuo’s West Street (TA reviewed).Written 3 November 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. If the weather is unbearable outside and if you have two small children aged 3 and under, you might want to rethink a trip hear or else it might be memorable for the wrong reasons. It’s cooler than outside but it’s still hot. There’s a lot of climbing and parents know children tire easily so you must carry them. Strollers are out of the question. It is very slippery. I have mixed feelings still but I can’t blame my parent woes on the attraction. If you have help, bring them to help you with kids. If you have older kids, just bring snacks.Written 13 August 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Josiah CLos Angeles, CA7 contributionsI’ve traveled to 78 different countries, and this was one of the most amazing vistas I have ever seen. Probably in my top 5 coolest places on earth. If you are even remotely close by, do yourself a favor and go.Written 15 April 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - 14raj705 contributionsA small town which can be covered in it's entirety in 1 hour's leisurely walk.
Across the river, settlements of enthusiastic AirBnB and motel developers are cropping up at a rampant pace.
The key things are the spectacular views along the Li River (including the 20 yuan note view), Bamboo boat rides to Nine Horse Hill and possibly the cormorant fishermen.
Walking is enjoyable. Electric ferry cars are a plenty and they don't cost much (you can bargain as they always start with an inflated prices for tourists).Written 6 May 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Daniel ABeijing, China35,099 contributionsWe had just finished enjoying an attraction and were walking around and noticed some people taking pictures. We looked around and then noticed why they were doing so. The background was amazingly beautiful and so we snapped some pics. I asked about the place and they said it was Fuli Bridge and then I remembered the attraction on the list of things to do I had written down from TA. It is well worth the stop if you’re in the area.Written 13 August 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Carol RBath, UK330 contributionsWe enjoyed wandering through the brightly light Gold Water cave where there are lots of stalactites and stalagmites often looking like the descriptions of “ crocodile teeth” “forest” “curtains” or “dragons chair” . The highlight however was going into the cold mud bath which was surprisingly thick in places and then (after a long cold shower) the hot springs bath. Fun experience and although there are lots of Chinese tourists going through the caves very few ventured into the baths when we were there.Written 7 August 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - André KHefei, China279 contributionsThsi was absolutely a highlight of our visit. We did this with scooters and it was amazing. The views are spectacular and you can take awesome photos at so many places as you can stop anywhere you want to. This is defnitely a must do when visiting Yangshou!Written 10 October 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
