Really enjoyed trip to Porec no cars in town all pedestrianised which was great. Loads of friendly restaurants bars and cafe. Lovely seafront stayed a week and will be back.

Was a little expensive but worth it

We love visiting caves. We are weird that way. When we planned our Croatian adventure, we were presented with a wide array of caves we could possibly visit. We chose Grotta Baredine. Don't know how it stacks up against all the other caves in Croatia, but we sure liked it.

It's a beautiful drive just to get to the place. The price of admission was quite reasonable. Our tour guide was a friendly, energetic young lady who gave the tour in both English and German. Unlike some of the caves we've visited in the past, this was a much more "vertical" experience, as you plunge almost straight down into the earth. According to our guide, there are 270 stairs that you descend during the trip into the cave. And yes, you will be ascending every one of those same steps as you exit the cave. You'll have thighs and glutes of iron by the end of your tour.

The cave scenery was beautiful and quite well-preserved, with little evidence of past vandalism or souvenir taking. Well worth a visit!

This place is amazing, since you see mosaics from 350 ad. The old basilica is historically very important.

A great day out with the kids. Having read some of the fairly negative reviews I was a little concerned. However the whole place was generally spot on. Rides were great. Food was surprisingly good (had the burger and it was probably one of the best I’ve had on a site like this). Cost wasn’t actually too bad either in honesty.

The rides were well attended and safe although it seemed relatively quiet when we were there so no huge queues and not much waiting for rubber rings or mats. Have to say that these were very welcome given I’m used to sliding down on my back and scratching myself up.

We didn’t bother with sunbeds as there’s enough space to camp out under trees if needed. We used 1 locker and packed light. Not sure why you’d need a safe as you could just leave everything in the car or locker. You pay for everything on your wristband so no cards or phones needed to hand.

The lockers/changing areas and toilets were all clean and pleasant to be in.

Why 4 stars and not 5?

The paths are stupidly hot in places. The matting that’s down in areas is like green plastic cheap turf and is just as hot. We all have sore feet. We ended up using our slides which was fine but you can’t wear them everywhere. I feel that for a place like this there should be some attempt at covered walkways near rides or some matting that at least doesn’t absorb the heat so much. I’d recommend packing some water shoes on hot days (it was about 30C when we were there).

Some signs weren’t up near rides with ‘rules’.

Some rides had one set of stairs for two rides meaning queues were odd.

The large 4 person ride had a broken rubber ring elevator so people were carrying g the huge rings up several flights of stairs themselves.

The staff look like they could do with some more shade on the top of the rides too.

Overall though - a great day out and we’d definitely return despite the niggles. But with water shoes for comfort.

What a wonderful afternoon! We started with a tour which was very informative and the lady who showed us around was very knowledgable. We then went to our table outside - gorgeous views! The snacks were delicious and the tastings of wine were very generous. The wine was amazing and we felt very well looked after during our visit here. The last serving us was able to answer any questions we had and loved to share her knowledge with us. Would definitely recommend this place!!

Not the cheapest place in town for a drink but a pleasant view. Worth going, but we didn't stop for long.

We had a nice quad tour off road. Good also for teens. They offer a lot of other activities. The staff is OK.

We visited a private exhibition in Nova Vas called Tractor story. Tractor story is the exhibition of more than 50 tractors and other agriculture machines. Beside Tractor story exhibition is the house with the story of Mediterranean cultures through an exhibition on bread, olive oil and wine with traditional tools.

The ferry is ideal for a day trip from Porec or Rovinj. However, if you want to travel in one direction between the destinations, it is very expensive and there are some uncomfortable details: the travel time is 3.30 (not 3 hours as advertised). You have to listened to a lot of loud information about the day trip to Venice (that you did not book) and about the alcoholic offers of the bar on the ship. The ferry was built in 1990 and is not that comfortable anymore - rows of seat as in an airplane. However: a fast, good and save crossing from Venice to Istria or vice versa. And the crew is very friendly.

The main street of the old town of Porec still bears the Roman name and stretches from east to west. Dekumanska, the ancient decumanus of the Roman "castrum", constitutes the main street of Porec, which divides the town in two and is the central artery of the Old Town.

The pavement is made of Dalmatian stone so it is easy to slip.

Along the street one can find numerous shops of all kinds, albeit a bit on the expensive side, but still fun to browse. I found that most items were more expensive than elsewhere, you are paying for the ambience.

It begins in the east at the main square, Trg. Slobode, and travels across the old town, past many historical attractions and buildings. During our walk, we admired the houses and palaces that frame it, but beware that it can become quite crowded.

About halfway along the Decumanus there is the so-called Romanesque House, a curious medieval house with a stone ground floor and a wooden first floor.

Restaurant is expensive but you get what you pay for. Best views in Porec and the food is a much higher standard than the other restuarants in Porec.

The old house in Roman style is one of the very few free standing houses in Poreč old town. You can only view it from outside, but even among the many nice old houses around it is well worth a look.
