Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The entire ruin / site is huge once you get in you can't stamp out unless you buy another set of entrance ticket to the area. The different ruins do have signs explaining what that ruin was but the QR code never worked (i've tested at least 5 of them, none of them directly me to the correct page so dont bother), rather hire a professional guide (don't use the guys on site they charge quite a lot)

Somawathiya Chaitya is a Buddhist stupa located in the ancient city of Polonnaruwa in Sri Lanka. It is a place where amazing events take place as the right tooth relic of Lord Buddha is enshrined. Due to this reason it has gained a special attraction of local and foreign tourists. My favorite place to go is Somawathi. A place that brings more freedom to the mind.

Take a walk around the site behind it too. The area is quite sandy, be prepared with the feet ;) Good to circle around it

Buddhist religious site with influence of Hinduism culture. The significant sights at this site are the impressive rock carvings which include the famous moonstone of semicircular shape carvings at the foot of first flight of step at the staircase and the guarding gods carvings at the entrance. It is included in the entrance fee of USD25 for the Polonnaruwa Ancient site. Well worth the value as part of the UNESCO World Heritage.

Dimbulagala Aranya Senasana, which is for Buddhists as well as all other people, has many valuable features. Although climbing the top of the mountain was quite difficult, my little daughter also went to the top of the mountain. A person who goes to the top of the mountain will have the opportunity to see a very beautiful surrounding scene. This is a must-see place.

This elevated terrace is known as Dalada Maluva (the Sacred Quadrangle) because the Temple of the Tooth was located here.

Variety - that's what you feel as you move around Polonnaruwa. Hetadage is a good example of the cultural, religious and architectural beauty of the place.
