    Marine Drive is the best!
Well what can I say more ?
During my 7 year stay in Mumbai from 2015-2022 I had the wonderful opportunity to visit this iconic promenade every working day as my office was located in Air India building. Every day post lunch I would go for a stroll with colleagues even when it was hot. Evenings were perfect for sunsets, monsoons were the time for high tides. Sunday mornings were ideal to observe youngsters and the old jogging, people doing yoga and exercises, super bikes racing past. During monsoons couples sitting under an umbrella were the frequent sights. The ice creams at Rustom, snacks at the tapri near air india building, pav bhaji at Girgaum chowpatty and the holidays during Ganesh Visarjan, New Year’s Eve, Christmas, National Holidays and the unscheduled stayback at office especially during heavy monsoons when trains were shut all remind me so much of this iconic place, bringing back memories of a lifetime. My favourite place in the whole of Mumbai!

It gets very hot during the daytime in summers as the Indian summer of Mumbai is unbearable. Evening is very pleasant with the cold winds coming off the sea. It's an old monument and has a barricaded entry for the area around the monument itself. The entry to the monument is restricted though.

Centrally located. quite close to Dadar station, Shree Siddhivinayak Temple is a must visit on your trip to Mumbai. It's well connected by local BEST buses too that ply from different parts of the city. Whether you come here to ask for some special favour or as a thanksgiving, the darshan of Lord Ganesha will make you feel truly blessed and at peace. If travelling on a short city trip, avoid Tuesday as its very crowded with the queues spilling on to the end of the lane. Prasad Ladoo's made of Boondi as well as coconut are available at a fixed nominal cost in the temple premise itself. Within the temple area, there is also a separate queue which offers a shorter queue and quicker darshan at an additional fee of Rs.100. It's completely optional. There are no charges for the normal queue. Overall, it's one of those places that's sure to make you feel happy to have visited it.

Have been visiting or transferring through Mumbai since 1976. I was so pleased to be there and actually stayed three days in the city. Stayed at Land and but visited many areas. Used to drive it. Thought this would now be un-doable. Now have renewed perspective. Loved it and the people were so friendly and joyful. Yes there are still slums and such but it is a City that is shining. Way to glow Mumbai

This stunning Gothic building is probably the finest example of the ensemble of Victorian Gothic architecture of Mumbai alongside the hlHigh Court of Mumbai and the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Vastu Sangrahalaya Museum. If you have the option of visiting day or night, I recommend visiting at night when the exterior is beautifully lit up.

This area of Mumbai is where you'll see most if not all of the major landmarks of the city including the Gateway of India, the Causeway, the High Court of Mumbai, the main Post Office. Some of these are the part of UNESCO sites of Mumbai.

Had been to this ancient rock cut caves near Mumbai a long back ago. It is located at Elephanta Island.

These caves are designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site and was dedicated to Lord Shiva. It is famous for the rock cut sculpture of the Trimurti. There are 5 rock cut caves on the western hill that are visited by tourists. There are 2 rock cut caves on the eastern hill that are unexplored by tourists. One can get views of the surrounding area and the other side of the Island. Beware of monkeys that roam around in the vicinity. One can trek up the hill for 15 mins to get a good view and see 2 large British era cannons. Earlier, the entrance fees were Rs. 10 per Indian and Rs. 300 per foreigner. But, now, it is Rs. 40 per Indian and Rs. 600 per foreigner. There are restaurants nearby. There are small shops lined on the steps. One can walk or ride a toy train to reach the foothill. It takes an hour to reach the island by ferry from the Gateway of India.

These caves are an ideal place for families as well as history lovers. It is a must visit and should not be missed.

This is such an underrated place...
I went in Feb so it was dry and not lush but beautiful nonetheless. I've been to Buddhist caves in many countries in Asia but this was one of the most impressive by the shear size of some.
I was lucky to have a security guard take me around skipping to the best caves, providing simple indights into Buddhist life 2000 years ago and the use of rooms and shortcutting to the top. Worth the obligatory handout at the end. He demonstrated the auditory delight that is mediative chanting from cave to cave- if you're by yourself you HAVE to do.
It's only from the top with the perspective of dustance that you can truly appreciate the overwhelming size that is Mumbai- wow!

I hired a bike for the 5km in-it was hot but could ride almost the whole way (last 200m was fairly steep without gears- hint double check the chain is tight before leaving- mine kept falling off. Not a massive hassle but if you're not used to bike repairs it could be a long walk).

About an hour from Mumbai- I took an uber rental but there was plenty of transport up there so you can easily just get a tuk tuk and find one back or a taxi.

Final hint- stretch out- you're in for some steps..

Coastal views with the skyline are nice but make sure the weather is nice. We went on the wrong afternoon when it was very hazy. Probably best to go in the evening.

Glad I selected this temple as it is both beautiful and welcoming. It is a sacred place (remember that when you go) deserving of respect as a tourist. Wonderful carvings, people praying, colourful art and statuary. Definitely worth a visit.

The Basilica of Our Lady of The Mount also known as Mount Mary Church is located on a hillock in Bandra. It has a scenic view of the Arabian Sea and the architecture is very prestigious.

I was highly recommended to visit the Basilica by my brother who mentioned it’s a very beautiful church, which is very peaceful and serene.

I was very lucky that I managed to visit the Church on a Saturday afternoon where there wasn’t much crowd. I was fascinated by the beauty of the architecture and once inside you are mesmerized seeing Mother Mary statue holding Jesus in her arms. It’s grand and you feel the vibrant energy, peace and quietness.

It’s a great place to spend time as it brings you to a meditative state.
The church is well kept and is clean.
I had bought candles from the stalls outside and lit it and prayed.
I felt light and happy after my visit.

There are many stalls outside the church where they sell different models of candles for special purpose.

People of all faith visit the Basilica and I would definitely visit on a next trip.
I would highly recommend the Basilica to anyone who wants to visit Mount Mary Church as it’s a very special place to visit.

The causeway just really busy with newer shops as well as a street market and plenty of restaurants. It is quite an experience since the place is very packed with stalls on either side of the footpath, so pedestrians have a narrow path to go in either direction. The road is quite busy, but some people were walking on the street side, but you do lose the experience.
The stalls sell a variety of items like clothes and accessories to pans and fruit. The shops are also accessible if you're able to get through the crowds to the store entrances.
There are plenty of things to experience around here and worth a visit if you're in the area, particularly if you have come from the Gateway of India.

The 18th-century peaceful, divine and beautiful Mahalaxmi Temple, dedicated to Goddess Lakshmi, graces the seashore in proximity to the Haji Ali Dargah.

Temple is clean and well maintained. The temple doesn't offer parking facilities, bus stop around 500 meters away and cabs are available nearby. Shoe stand outside the temple without any charges. you will find shops of sweets, flowers and other goodies nearby the temple.

Usually crowded and there is a huge queue. Have to wait for 30 min for darshan.
Inside the temple premises, photography is not allowed, ensuring a sacred atmosphere.

Receiving blessings from Mahalaxmi is an enchanting encounter. Upon departing, indulge in lots of the delectable street food options near the temple.

Not a usual tourist spot but fascinating nonetheless and important to hear of this historic function still going on in modern day Mumbai.
Beware all the street hawkers, especially the numerous small children to tug at your heart strings...
