I went to Shirdi, from Delhi with my 70+ parents and 2 kids, aged 13 and 7, thinki g that it is a safe destination to travel to, for ladies.
We had planned a 5 days trip, starting from Shirdi, to trimbakeshwar, then Nashik and then back to
The hotel - Marigold Regency was wonderful- neat, clean, staff helpful , free pick and drop service to the Sai Temple.
The only problem we faced in the whole trip was the taxi that had been arranged through a travel agent.
We arranged it before travelling to avoid last minute confusions but it did not turn out to be so.
The taxi driver was apathetic, had no desire to show us nearby attractions even on repeated requests.
Did not tie the luggage on the luggage carrier, so in effect we travelled in cramped seats despite it being a 7 seater.
He took us to specific shops in shani shignapur and shirdi and compelled us to buy stuff from there, and had no consideration for my elderly parents parking very far away- saving his petrol and creating difficulties for us, which were avoidable.
Even when requested to drive further he refused.
On the third day of the trip, he started harrassing us for extra money- refused to follow the earlier agreed upon itinery and created a lot of stress for me and my parents.
To the extent that eventually we had to change out taxi.
But this experience left a bad taste and made me to feel that even now, single females with/ without kids are not safe to travel.

ISKCON Temple in Chennai is conveniently located just off the East Coast Road. A large and aesthetically pleasing temple, the place is clean and well maintained. Car parking is available. There is a food court which opens at 11am and a shop where one can buy books and souvenirs. Prasadam is given out free. You do need to climb quite a few steps in order to reach the main temple hall.

Opens at 9AM and hence better to start early and finish by 11AM and then go to Universal kingdom. They do have food court. Good for kids and all age. Maintenance is good , best time to visit weekdays.. Peaceful and spend more time with individual tanks.

The place is well maintained. There is small underwater tunnel where we get a good view of deep water fishes. The ticket cost is 650 for adults. Car parking charges us ₹50. It will be a good experience for kids. It will take around 2 hours to completely watch the place.

Family & children surely enjoy.. it would be treat to watch feeding food and scuba driving.

A vast expanse of green, Guindy National Park is a one-of-a-kind park in Chennai, which is home to many species of animals and birds. A perfect location for a picnic with family and friends, the park offers a variety of amusement for kids including slides and swings. Have a look at the green side of Chennai with the biggest diversity of plants in the city.

It is located about 9 kms from Chennai Central Railway Station and houses a wide of variety of birds and animals including peacocks, swans, cranes, flamingos, owls, bears, and a whole lot of monkeys and langurs.

The entry fee is reasonably low and the paths inside are wheelchair friendly

The weather was amazing when i visited the beach, the beach has a lot of eateries around it, be it local or well established brands, the beach in itself isn't very clean, but better than many that i have seen
Do visit in the evenings or early morning!

We went to shop few things. which included Tamil Traditional clothes, visited a large store Pothys, Which housed every thing we sought. days later I wanted to backpack and went to neighbouring store called Saravana.

Both the places, were extremely cheap, choice was wide and Staff behaviour was very good.

I am born raised in Mylapore. Now returning to the same place is Semma feel I should say. Yesterday I was crossing by Dr.Radhakrishnan street, Music academy side, my mind went back to the days as a child I have walked all through here. Now the whole place has walls filled colourful paintings, and green plants. My all time favourite woodlands, then freezone shop now elsewhere, anjaneyar temple, narda gaba Sabha, Nageshwara park, are some landmarks unforgettable spots according to me.
More exploring chennai reminds me of more of chennai.
