This was a nice leisurely couple hour float down the penis Blancos river. Roy was our guide, and I highly recommend him! Extremely knowledgeable and a great eye for catching so many creatures in their natural state. He is super passionate about Costa Rica and the beauty of this land. Along our way, we saw crocodiles, monkeys, two cans, so many gorgeous birds. It really was amazing.

What a wonderful trip! We were picked up right on time and the adventure began. We were very fortunate to have a small group! Right from the start Christopher and Lidia (spelling?) were personable and informative. They made sure everyone had what they needed for a great day. Throughout the trip they made sure everyone was safe and seeing as much as possible. Christopher knew an amazing amount about everything we were seeing. When my husband and I got overly excited about seeing a Toucan and unexpectedly dumped ourselves in the river we were quickly helping us out and safely getting us back in the boat. I appreciated their good spirits about it all as it was highly embarrassing!Lidia even was able to save my phone. Thanks Lidia!!!! The trip ended with a delicious snack and presentation on Costa Rica's cocoa industry. Yum!! I would do this trip in a heartbeat. Both Christopher and Lidia made us feel like friends. They and the other staff were all wonderful. If you enjoy wildlife, fun, and floating down a river do not miss this trip!

My husband and I did this recently for our 25th wedding anniversary. Christian was incredible! He guided us down the river and made sure we had a wonderful time. A couple of great places to stop and swim. Even helped us get it authentic exfoliation using the soil of the river bank. It was a great way to experience Costa Rica.

Great day out! Lots of driving, be ready to nap or take pictures. Coffee timing pretty spot on, lunch+dinner yummy yummy, and the hot springs to steal the show.

We booked the 3 combo trip and it was amazing. Lazy boat down the river was the highlight and we had a guide who pointed out so much to us and was very knowledgeable. We stopped for a snack of fruit, cake and cheese which was lovely. Onto the waterfall - it’s a long walk down but do much harder coming back up🤣 but well worth the effort to enjoy a lovely swim. Lunch was very enjoyable. The volcano walk was very interesting. We had two different guides and both were excellent. Stopped to get brilliant views of volcano and saw a toucan close by. The organisation of this trip from pick up to drop off was effortless. A long day but incredible.

The very best tour we have been on with reference to birds and animals in comfort of large boat. Our guide Jason and the boat captain? Augusto were 5 star at least
They displayed a passion for their art and were very patient when pointing out difficult to see birds etc
My partner a professional photographer was taken back by the quality and quantity of photographic opportunities
The lunch was awesome and a traditional Costa Rican meal

Otto is a great tour guide and very enthusiastic. He turned a rainy day into a joyful evening with a little dancing and singing. He is also very knowledgeable of the local history and fauna.
We really enjoyed the snacks and the drinks too. Thank you Otto

Fantastic! Our driver Jose-Luis was friendly, careful, safe, and professional, always with a smile. Our guide Carlos was extraordinary, highly knowledgeable, helpful, engaging, and fun to be with. He was great with both adults and kids. He helped us see a huge variety of birds, caimons, howling monkeys, lizards, even a crocodile! We didn't see other tourists, no motor boats disturbing the river, only the peace and beauty of the place. We also learned something about the Maleku culture. Afterwards, we visited Wendy's house had amazing food and the best coffee in a beautiful setting. It was a special experience and a perfect day. Thank you!

Cool experience to be on the river at sunset and as the sun went down. Lots of animals become active at this time and the mosquitoes weren’t as active in this area (much more at rio Celeste). Peaceful, beautiful, we felt very safe (we wondered about that haha). Our guide, Kato, was very knowledgeable and pointed out and explained everything we were experiencing, from the nature to the animals. We spotted many different species of monkeys, the “Jesus Christ” iguana, bats that flew over the water, even a small caiman. The plants and vines draped over the water and created beautifully green tunnels as we slowly drifted down the calm water. It was very relaxing and we highly recommend

Great fun on this river raft float and then chocolate demonstration. We saw all sorts of wildlife and birds with Toni our river guide. Crocodiles, monkeys, spectacled owl and much more. Then we learned about the family's farm and were shown the process for making chocolate and ate a bunch and also got lots to take back to the hotel. Edgardo was a fascinating guide around the farm and through the chocolate process. Then there was a delicious lunch prepared for us with many traditional Costa Rican items. We would definitely do this tour again.

We did a private sunset boat tour of Lake Arenal, and it could not have been better.

Our guide was Carlos, and our boat Captain was Carly, and both were wonderful. Carlos was extremely knowledgable, passionate, and proud of his country and heritage. We learned a lot in a couple hours with him. Carly kept putting us in the best positions to get the best sunset and Arenal volcano views.

They served us a delicious charcuterie board and some fresh pineapple, plus some wine and other drinks. We got lucky with excellent weather, and Carlos is also an excellent photographer.

Cannot more highly recommend the Lake Arenal Sunset Boat Tour from Jacamar Naturalist Tours. It was the highlight of our entire trip!

We had the opportunity to go through level 1 and level 2 rapids, as we looked for wildlife. Our guide, Gabriel, has a great personality and made an already fun trip even better. We saw several different types of birds, as well as monkeys, iguanas and a sloth. We then stopped at an inlet and swam and ate pineapple before continuing down the river. At the end of the adventure, we were served a traditional Costa Rican lunch. It was delicious! We then journeyed back to our hotel. Along the way to and from the river, our driver, Otto, shared with us points of interest and different facts about Costa Rica and the region. The whole experience last about 5 and a half hours. It was a very good experience for $75 per person, and I would definitely recommend it.

We had a fabulous guide, Otto! He was very knowledgeable about wildlife and history and incredibly welcoming. He took photos for us of our experience which is much appreciated. We left our phones behind because we knew he would take care of documenting the experience. We even got a merengue lesson at the end!
