  • The ranking of tours, activities, and experiences available on Tripadvisor is determined by several factors including the revenue generated by Tripadvisor from these bookings, the frequency of user clicks, and the volume and quality of customer reviews. Occasionally, newly listed offerings may be prioritized and appear higher in the list. The specific placement of these new listings may vary.

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Booking was seamless. Felix was communicative over chat.
Saidi our guide and driver was attentive, flexible and safe. He ensured my elderly parents were taken care of and went over and beyond to reflect the South African hospitality.

My daughter and I had a fantastic day out. We were properly looked after, the staff were professional and courteous and would go out of their way to make it an enjoyable day. Thanks to two greedy and crafty orcas, sadly the great whites were in hiding however we saw up to 15 species including the bronze sharks with teeth that I didn't want anywhere near me! Many thanks

Born in Africa Tour Guide Mike was an excellent host and a native. He explained a lot about south africa and the wineries, mountains, history, and culture on the trip to aquila game reserve. He was good in that he wanted us to get there early for lunch and sit in front of the safari vehicle cuz its less bumpy. Quite humorous also. We got to see rhino, lion, buffalo, giraffe, zebra, wilderbeast, and spring buck. The safari tour guide was knowlegable w the animals. It's a great de wet cellar on the way back. Picked up a 3 bucks bottle of smoove rose to take back to hawaii. AURYTE!

We had a fantastic day in the winelands of Stellenbosch and Franschhoek. Basil was our tour guide - PERFECT! Couldn't be any better. He told us a lot about the regions we went through, the farmers, the south african history and of course about the wine estates we visited. We tasted 7 different wines paired with cheese. Later on another estate more wines with chocolate. Had a lovely day and would do it again. Recommend 10/10.

Everything promised was met. Knowledgeable guide who helped us make the most of our stop offs. From Table Mountain to Penguins and Pastel coloured townhouses.

We visited aquila in January 2024.
We were picked up and dropped off at our hotel on the day with other people who were collected from their hotels. It was a 2 hour drive to the reserve and you stop half way at a petrol station for refreshments which was good.
The van we were in was quite old but had air con. The driver hardly spoke to any of us on the way there or back.
When you arrive you have lunch before the safari.lunch was a buffet and there was plenty of choice and the food was very nice.
After lunch you go outside and there are several safari vehicles waiting.its a free for all to get on one ! They are open but have covered roofs which is good for cover from the sun.
Our driver was really chatty and we saw all the animals and he gave us plenty of time to take photos .he had a good sense of humour and was very informative.
You are driven round the reserve and stop half way round for a free drink but the toilets there made the area very smelly. After the drink you are taken back round the reserve by a different route.
The tracks are very bumpy but we found this hilarious.
Once back you have time to go the gift shop and get a drink before getting back on your minibus.
All in all it was an enjoyable day but this isn't a proper safari. It is a flat game reserve where you are driven round in a circle. The lions are in a large gated part of the reserve and the other animals are in the other parts.
It's not like being out in the proper Bush but it's a good chance to see the animals if you don't have time for a longer safari.

The trip was seamless. John picked us up at our hotel and we had a wonderful and informative tour of the Stellenbosch wine area. John is a delightful host and well informed on wines, the Cape Town area, and South Africa. I highly recommend this tour.

We were invited by friends to this experience and we had the most wonderful time! The 3 gins in the guided tastings were all locally sourced and of the highest quality. The history and background to the gins was very interesting too. Everyone had a chance to mix a couple of cocktails with some expert advice and combined with some nibbles, this rounded out the whole experience into a great evening. The best gin tasting I’ve been to by a long shot.

Well organised tour, pick up and drop off perfect, the short trip across to island was on a modern clean boat. Collected by bus with an ex inmate who took round certain buildings in the prison
Was given lots of information about the history of the prison and inmates
Our only negative feedback is you was not allowed to wander around on your own and it just seemed a bit rushed

Our driver/guide Kelly was wonderful! He was friendly, knowledgeable and on time. He led with his personality and made us feel comfortable and safe at all times. Our tour was a personal tour as we were the only clients scheduled for the day. And I am glad. His easy going style and ability to communicate effectively kept us so engaged that we were disappointed when the tour was over. Five stars. I highly recommend!

This tour was the best way to get a sense of Cape Town culture! We did this on our last day in Cape Town, and my only regret is that we didn’t do it on day 1! Justin was the best guide - super knowledgeable, genuinely connected to his community and well versed in South African history and culture, and so friendly and personable. He took us to neighborhoods and establishments we would never have found on our own (or would have been weary to visit as tourists) and showed us how welcoming and lovely the people and businesses were. We found so many places we would have gone back to (which is why you should do this early in your visit!) and tasted the most delicious and authentic food of our trip. This is a must-do if you really want to get a sense of Cape Town!

Maudi made this trip an incredible experience. His friendly nature, his immense knowledge about local history and his jokes kept us all entertained on a wonderful trip - thank you so much Maudi, you're a great man.
The trip itself was amazing too, we saw Elephants, cheetahs, wildebeest, rhinos, hippos, many kinds of antelope, and zebras - would absolutely recommend this to anyone.
The tent we stayed in at the lodge was great too, and the food at the restaurant there was really good - overall a fantastic experience!

We did the 2 day tour and our expectations were exceeded. Our driver Mawanda was the best, he could tell us something about everything and made it understandable and he also got us safely to our destinations. The accommodation and the safari were also great, we saw a wide variety of animals and everything was explained to them.
