Wonderful afternoon spent at Clonfert for the Santa experience. Not overcrowded like some Santa experiences, very relaxed with only short waiting time to visit the big man. While waiting our turn we were offered complimentary hot chocolates and cake. Santa was great and spent lots of time with us. The gifts were presented afterwards in a toy workshop, which was a lovely touch, because the kids could chose their own gift from a nice selection. We had food afterwards in the cafe, which was very tasty and good value.

This is one of the jewels in the historical Kildare town of Maynooth. St be Patrick’s College and Maynooth Castle at one end and Carton Estate on the Dublin side. The grounds and buildings are amazing and elegant. It’s is a beautiful place to walk around and the corridors in St Patrick’s House are fabulous and lined with paintings of religious figures connected to the college. It was a seminary although I don’t think the train priests there any longer
It is now part of Maynooth University.

Situated at the end of the Main Street in front of St Patrick’s College is Maynooth Castle or the well preserved ruins. It is ope to the public from April till September and yours are self guided. It was the home of the Fitzgerald clan. Well worth a visit.

I have a loan horse in Clonfert equestrian and I really couldn’t ask for a better yard like there’s three arenas to ride in and the owners and manager are all so nice all the time.

St Mary's Church is a small historic church in the charming town of Maynooth. The church has some beautiful architecture and stonework. The high stained glass window is rather beautiful, and certainly fosters an environment for reflection and quiet contemplation.

Look also for some wonderful woodwork in the church and some thoughtful paintings adorning the walls.

This is a nice, relaxing course with lovely rolling hills and a parkland play. The holes get most interesting with 15 or 16 when some water comes into play for the first time. I enjoyed the course after playing far more difficult links courses in Ireland. Recommended.

I haven't been to Maynooth in quite a while but I remembered this wheel from that visit and ambled back for another look.
It is built at the back of the Manor Mill Shoping Centre to commemorate the fact that a real mill once stood here.
I wouldn't go out of my way to see it or anything but it makes for a quirky photo stop.
There's an interesting display board beside it giving a run down on the history of the old mill.
It's on a terrace out the back door of the shopping mall by the stream facing the picturesque ruin of Maynooth Castle.

Moved my little girls pony up to blackberry two weeks ago. She also does lessons here
Blue had some health issues on arrival so needed to stay in the stables before going out on grass. I can honestly say the staff couldn't do enough for her or for my little girl to help her care for her horse
I'd like to give a particular mention to Clodagh and Antoinette who have been at the end of the phone everyday the past week with advise and updates
Thankfully Blue has turned a corner and will go out to meet her new horsey friends today.
Clodagh you are a credit to blackberry stables we are so grateful for your time patience and experience

I recently met a good friend of mine for coffee in Carton House and I can honestly say that it was a truly great experience. The homemade scones were so deliciously light and were served with homemade butter and jam, absolutely scrumptious. They were served by an extremely professional lady called Anna who was hospitality personified and she even treated us to a mini tour of some of the fabulous rooms around the bar area and was extremely knowledgeable about Carton's House history. I would definitely be recommend a visit and I suggest you seek Anna out for that extra-special experience as she made our coffee and chat afternoon most enjoyable.

Hi all. This is not my normal type of post but I felt I needed to share this with everyone in my network..As an overweight, late 50,s non active person, I decided to try Yoga as a last resort. I only realised how unfit and unhealthy I was after joining yoga which was scary. I was stiff and and could not even put on my own socks without a struggle.1 year later and now I can pull my left and right leg to my chest. The old saying, if you don’t use it you loose it. It’s never too late to start and I highly recommend you do. Life changing in every way. This will change your life and mindset.
