The trip to this giant mirror was very fruitful. We were in awe of this nature's great gift to humanity.

In the middle of the truly amazing, bucket list, salar (salt flat) it's an interesting sight in itself, but your ticket allows you to hike about 1km on a defined, one-way trail up and around the island (and visit the washroom -- we had to show our ticket to get in!) The added height gives great views across the salar (where the brightness reflected off the salt confused my camera's light metering) with the huge cacti in the foreground. A surprising number of birds also seem to call the island home.

Everyone on a tour also seems to have lunch here, hopefully at one of the shaded tables, or perhaps bringing their own table, chairs and shade.

    These are really sweet geysers.

If you’ve been to Iceland or New Zealand you won’t be wowed but still worth a visit and the salt flats around them are amazing.

Its a large area lake besides the eco hotel Los Flamencos. Its little bit stinky but the view is overwhelming. The flamingos are so social that even you go near them they don’t go away. Any one can take selfie with them also. Here i took some awesome pictures of them. I like this lake to my heart.

Driving on tracks(not really roads) with an experienced guide and two spare tires is an extraordinary experience. Beautify and animal life abound if you look. One small animal looks like a cross between a squirrel and a rabbit. Another like a small orstrch. Vicuñas here iand there in packs of three to five. And there is quiet,

Large lake fed by thermal waters. Lots of birds around and llamas and vacunas. Waters are said to have medicinal properties.

Excellent few days in Bolivia on the amazing salt flats. This company provided excellent guides and our experience was way beyond expectations. Every stop was jaw dropping and the attention to detail (from unexpected snacks and drinks to the providing on rubber boots for the beautiful water filled parts of the journey) was exceptional.

Its a beautiful rock. I have seen like this in Sahara desert. But those are of lime stone. But this is a volcanic rock with excellent silhouette. I love its feature. Its unique.

This mountain dominates the scenery as you cross the salt flats-uniformly flat as far as the eye can see with no vegetation or animals. Our tour took us close enough to it to appreciate the change in scenery, landscape and vegetation with crops and animals. A circle of volcanoes surrounds the salt desert and I believe we got to the middle[, Incahuasi island with small community and shop and rest rooms. We had a splendid first class picnic lunch on the salt, thankfully protected from the sun by a shade. Unforgettable.

Worth a stop if you are a train buff, but for me, 20 minutes was plenty. There are a large number of ruined and rusted locos, nose to tail, just left to rust, likely when Bolivia lost their coastline to Chile after the Nitrate War of the 1880s. Many now covered with graffiti too, and souvenir hunters long ago removed anything removable.

Beautiful. Blue lagoon, with white edges of ice and borax, splashed by the wind. The pink dots that were visible from afar were the famous flamingos of the altiplano. The almost vegetation-free mountains around it served as a frame for that cold oasis in the middle of the desert. It was one of the most striking images I've ever had in my life. We parked in a corner of the lagoon and when we went down we could soon see the strength and cold of the wind that blew there. We walked along the banks to the point where the flamingos were concentrated, many of them immobile, paradinhos with one leg in the shallow water of the lagoon.
