Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Despite it pouring down, we had a brilliant visit. The children, aged 2 and 4, didn't want to leave. So good for them to get up close and feed the animals, although Jack did tell the little kid to stop following him!! 😂

We were happy we got to experience the Mary Queen of Scots house, as we believed it wasn't going to be open the day we were there. The museum gave a summarised history of Mary Stuarts life and why the house is connected to her. It also gives you a brief history of other residents who have lived in the house. I would have liked to have seen more history about the other residents and how the house was connected to the other towers they had. But it is a small building. It's worth a visit as it's free!!

Impressive ruin of the black canons Abbey. Shame its blocked off for safety reasons. Fingers crossed in a couple of years' time, it will be fully accessible.

But it was interesting to read about the history of the abbey in the attached museum. And how it was sacked several times before they decided to stop rebuilding. The perils of being a border town.

Myself and 6 year old daughter visited to do the haunted trail.

We had a brilliant time and loved the trail. The staff were super friendly and my daughter though scared at certain points was really interested in some of the stories from the info boards

A very impressive, decorative large space with lots of options for arts and crafts. The lady running it was so helpful. A lovely way to spend a few hours and take something home at the end of it. Both me (42) and my daughters (9 and 10) enjoyed it.

I had previously conversed with Chris. Via email. I had kindly requested 5 Scottish Borders stickers. And I went to collect them today.
I had the immense pleasure of conversing with Chris. Whom, carries himself as a very friendly, professional, and engaging person..

It area Sam absolute pleasure to spend
a half hour or so. In Chris’ company.
A gentleman, and I will return for further items.
I would also like to mention that I also conversed with other members on the phone.
Whom, were equally pleasant and friendly.

Thank you to Chris, and his fellow colleagues.
    For an excellent customer delivery.

We went to the Monteviot Lights Trail - a festive light and sound show which was really imaginative and beautifully executed. Cleverly placed lights and atmospheric sounds transform the gardens and woodlands around Monteviot into a wonderland. Perfect as a romantic winter activity, with great hot drinks and snacks available at the start and mid-point of the trail. We were lucky enough to go on a snowy evening, and it completely exceeded all our expectations. I hope they do it every year!

Lovely day for time of year, nice walk through trees and a short climb to monument. Went to spread my wife's ashes in the wind as it was one of the first places I took my wife nearly 55 years ago. A very moving experience.

A warm welcome awaits from Gordon & Lorraine
I will concur that the exterior of the building may think you’ll be disappointed when you go in….
    But oh no.
    Friendly service
Great atmosphere and the food was plentiful and quite fabulous
I had the steak Sizzler, my husband, the Katsu burger.
    Woweeee
Only go with an empty stomach. You will not want to leave any of the delicious food on your plate and as the portions are big…. Well just take my word on it. Haha
A definite place to visit, if ever in Jedburgh.
Thank you for a fab meal.

Popped into Woodside for a pitstop whilst driving up to Scotland. The coffee and cakes were first rate and the location beautiful with chaffinchs and tits on the bird feeders outside the windows. Well worth a visit.

Stopped in Jedburgh while enroute to Hadrian's wall as part of a tour. While a former home of Mary Queen of Scots is here too along with the remnants of the Jedburgh Abbey (both fascinating to see!), the highlight was walking down High Street to discover this shop. A wonderful selection of chocolates (milk chocolate and white) all fairly priced. And the proprietor was just a delight to talk with. A most wonderful experience. And the white chocolate in the shape of a sheep was a hit back home on my return.

Unassuming friendly local pub. One real ale. On Monday nights there is live traditional music - absolutely brilliant.
