Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What travellers are saying
- BrianJonestownScottsdale, AZ230 contributionsWow! Everyone seems to obsess about the cost of parking and parking tickets rather than reviewing the beach itself. Park well away and walk. That's what we did every day. Get some steps in and it won't cost you a cent!
Anyway, considering the waves and the surf and the amount of usage this beach is clean. The folks who frequent it are respectful and friendly and the lifeguards are plentiful. We've been coming here for ten years and love it.Written 6 October 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The beach is deep enough and far enough from the road that dogs can run off leash without being too near traffic. A cliff obscures part of the beach from the road. All the dogs that were there on the day we visited were well behaved, and the owners were attentive to their dogs.Written 16 October 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - DonnloopieArizona62 contributionsThis was a small exotic bird sanctuary. It was peaceful, the birds were beautiful and the staff very helpful. A unique and fun experience. The staff obviously know and care for the birds.Written 28 July 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- on_the_go_98765Tucson20,577 contributionsAt the point when passing the Community Center (same name, Powerhouse), a wide expanse of sandy beach access and grassy not-so-beachy places upon which to repose open up. There it is in a nutshell. You have arrived. Let your eye travel up to the playground equipment (and train tracks) and back down to the beach. This is Powerhouse Beach.
And it is a destination for wedding events and others in search of prime real estate and even more prime vistas. The Community Center offers indoor facilities for a great variety of events (think "wedding") when guests would be happier indoors.
There is a rental fee, and lots of hoops (courtesy of the City) through which to jump, but ... is this not ideal? Food prep are all options. Here is a host of attractive infrastructure elements, perfect for the best photo-op.
During our time visiting, no weddings transpired and we watched the day's events play out below us on the beach. And on the grass.
Just a note to help define things: Seagrove Park abuts this park BUT at a later and a slight more distant point. Pass through the railroad queue and see the lovely patch of grassy terrain overlooking the train tracks. This is also a venue for rent should more of an outdoor wedding (and less Powerhouse Community Center Pavilion) be desired.
Now, if one could only place an order for perfect wedding day weather, all would be well in this perfect world. Until then, roll the dice!Written 10 May 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Popular for surfers. Flowering bushes.Written 6 August 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- SidSidowOmaha, NE1,961 contributionsWe had a large group of people in tow from all over the country. As a part of the meeting, we volunteered to some type of "community service".
We cleaned trash, washed signs and pulled weeds from all over the grounds.
Hope we made things better for families enjoying the park!!Written 13 March 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Only few people go here and you have the feeling of nature still very present.Written 9 July 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
