We came here for dinner in a Saturday night. It was busy but we were able to find paid public parking and a pizza place to eat dinner easily. It is very clean and family friendly. Many shops, restaurants, and ice cream places. Not overly touristy. There is a nice pier that is free to walk on as well.

We totally enjoyed walking on the pier and out to the Roundhouse Aquarium. There some interesting plaques with historical and other information. The aquarium is free and offers a nice insight into the fish life in the Pacific in this area.

Manhattan Beach is very big on safety during the pandemic. Masks are required inside and outside unless your eating. Fines start at $100 and we saw two people fined, no exceptions. We felt safe as we spent four days enjoying all the sites.

Live Oak has it all. Tennis courts. Batting cages. Toddlers play area. Bigger kids playground. Dog run. Baseball fields. Soccer. Scout house. Bathrooms. Drinking water. And easy parking. Great for birthday parties. Lock events. And just seeing some beautiful grass. We were just there once again for kids baseball and i reminded of all the years spent at this amazing park

Two floors with several exhibits on each. About 15 minutes is all you need but worth walking to the end of the pier. Starfish were our favorite

Located in the Tree Section of Manhattan Beach sits Sand Dune Park. The sand dune has been a workout venue for locals and a few college and sports teams for decades. Because of it's popularity in social media and because of abuse of the surrounding neighborhood by a few visitors, the park erected a fence, began charging a $1 fee for adult use, and set up a reservation system for use of the park. Parking is somewhat limited nearby but if you want a grueling workout this is the place. You literally try to walk/run up the sand dune to reach the top abut 80 yards away, turnaround and run down. After a couple of attempts you have had it for the day.

Nearby is a children's play zone with swings and climbing structures. Picnic tables are nestled in the nearby park area. Generally, the local area is very quiet especially during weekdays. Parking is free and the beach is only a few blocks away (up another hill though).

Adventure place is a great hangout for the kids. They have a tubes. Slides. Swing climbing area. Separate area for toddlers. They have a gym for basketball and outside three different climbing walls and a small ropes course. They have two rooms for birthday parties. We have hosted our kids parties at Adventure plex. And this last weekend went to a friends party. Great space. Have fun. @nickellfamilytravel

What’s nice about Metlox plaza is you have a few restaurants to choose from with an open area for small children to run around. It’s a small open plaza where small children can be free while you eat your meal and can keep an eye on them. If you do not have small children there is an area you can sit and have coffee or a smoothie and meet friends, there are some restaurants to have a romantic meal like Petros and Nicks with a spa and some shops close by.

This is a very nice small park overlooking the beach. It is quiet, uncrowded, has lovely benches and lots of green space. I stopped here and just sat...taking in the breeze and the lovely view. It was a lovely and serene place in which to escape.

Probably the only drawback is the lack of parking close by.

I go to many farmers markets in many areas. I have been to this several
Times and yes covid makes everything less fun.. but vendors don’t sell hot food here, minimal actual fruit and vegetable farms...location is tucked behind shade near police station so not the best.. summer usually has more art vendors .: it’s small and meh . I guess if you have been to farmers market in San Luis Obispo on Thursday nights( 100 years old) on a huge stretch of Higuera ( a mile?) or to a vibrant Christmas mart
In Europe...no small town farmers market can compare...I just always leave this one feeling a little flat. Just went to one in Austin TX and it was same..just ok .. I think covid is killing farmers market vibe?
