TLDR: spa is amazing, restaurant is meh
The spa is great, my partner and I had lovely treatments. The pool, steam room and sauna areas were clean and kept to a great standard. The gym also looked spacious and well equipped, there was a lively spin studio too.
However, when booking a spa day here, PLEASE don’t book it with lunch included, it’s not worth it (£270 for two people). At best you’d be better off just having a normal lunch with full menu availability, as the “spa” set menu options were uninspiring to say the least. At worst you should eat elsewhere.
Upon arrival at the bar (not the hotel restaurant as previously thought), almost every single table was dirty - a staff member cleared away the crumbs on our table WITH HER HANDS after we had sat down at the cleanest window table we could find, and the service was friendly but not very attentive.
Also, upon arrival at the spa, we were told our lunch reservation had been moved from our original booking time - I hadn’t been notified about this. Not a huge deal, but also not great form.
I left the meal feeling annoyed, which is not how I felt after my wonderful treatments.
