Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

- USALouiseIllinois808 contributionsThe museum and grounds at Olduvai Gorge are very modern and clean, and make for an essential stop in Tanzania. The museum is small but has amazing artifacts. It was so interesting to view human remains which I have only read about in college textbooks. We toured the museum by ourselves, but then heard an oral history given by a Maasai volunteer, who we tipped for his services. The view of the gorge is incredible and so interesting to see all the historical layers.
Most tourists probably skip this exhibit (we were the only ones in the museum when we visited), but I think it is an essential stop to see examples of early mankind. It also makes for a nice stop on the road from Ngorongoro to the Central Serengeti (nice clean bathrooms too). The magnetic Shifting Sands are also nearby, although we did not stop to see them.Written 24 September 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. We were met with great enthusiasm by everyone there - staff and students. The value of education is high and much appreciated by all the students. We were made to feel valued and very much at home for the three days we spent at the school. Meeting Gemma Sisa was a highlight along with the bright and welcoming students in each campus we visited. This is a truly memorable experience that is very rewarding.Written 2 November 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - luc_robertMerelbeke, Belgium207 contributionsFor visiting real Tanzania and Masaipeople, a travel to Engaruka is recommended. The village shows how people lives. The ruins are worth visiting because of the pretty setting. Guiding by a Masai provides a different view on western way of life.Written 17 September 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - PernickityScotland79 contributionsWe travelled for hours to go and see the Laetoli footprints only to find them covered up! Do check before travelling. Unesco are investigating if there are more footprints so won't allow Tanzania to build a museum yet so the footprints have been covered to preserve them. There is a small museum and a lovely guide but it just isn't worth the time and effort to see volcanic rock covering the footprints....You can see some animal footprints but not the human ones that we had expected to be able to see. Not surprised to find the previous visitors had been nearly 2 months before!Written 2 October 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Monica DWashington DC69 contributionsThe Sunday Mass is a great way to experience a small piece of people's lives, and it is humbling to see how deep people's faith is. The choir sings beautifully. Both men and women, young and old, participate with deep devotion. People in Arusha are so warm, welcoming, and good-humoured at all times.
As our safari guide told us at the end of the safari: "You have seen the animals, now see the people".

The Gem mining tour led by Nora Saul was trully educativie and enjoyable. We learned to appreciate the beauty of gemstones even more when we saw how much hard work is done to provide us with the beautiful gemstones of Tanzania. The work done by miners, gemologists and jewellery makers make a gemstone worth every dime spent. Field Gemology is also a rare profession and i see Nora going a long way with her safaris. Keep it up Nora. I recommend Terra Flora to anyone wanting a true adventure in exploring the Gemstone World.Written 8 November 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - betsy hWashington DC, DC14 contributionsWe had. Fantastic guide (Mesinga) that was very flexible to move the schedule around based on what we wanted. He was very personable and great sense of humor. He had an excellent eye for spotting game.
We had a medical situation due to allergic reaction and our guide immediately took action by contacting the tele-doctor and ensured that a doctor would be available at the hospital.Written 6 January 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The site manager let us in, we bought a couple of drinks and had a real chill out. Great way to laze away a couple of hours - just us, the friendly site manager and a couple of friendly dogs . Fantastic views, clean toilets and optional music - must go back with the family/ friends one evening and during the day when there’s a clear skyWritten 13 August 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
