An excellent archaeological site of late Roman times- well preserved and restored - with the bonus of the original Tel with ruins dating back to the time of King Saul (mentioned in Samuel 2) and before.
Allow plenty of time to wander along the streets, view the bathhouses, climb the steps of the amphitheater, and admire the mosaics.

Great architecture for a building build in 1969 with concrete , a lot of mosaic or sculpture of different country that give different view of the church and quite unusual.
Highly recommend doing a guided tour as the tour guides, usually with PhD's provide so much information of each site.

I highly suggest this city for anyone seeking themselves and spirituality along with the highest altitude of any city in Israel and the most beautiful panoramic views of mountains and nature that you can imagine.
An artist colony with loads of inspiring art to view, be astonished and purchase for small budgets (our favorite: David Friedman and his Kabbala inspired art).

At the north end of the Jordan River is this lovely stop to view the banks, the flowers and watch people of all nations be baptized.
Clean, safe and even if more commercial than the other holy sites, it is a fun and moving site to see people taking the plunge to be baptized in white gowns or self baptizing them selves with a wet towel.

It was amazing to see the historical site - remains of the church and then very nearby to see the historic site of St Peter’s home with a modern church built above it.
This is a powerful site to see--especially the ruins as these have been venerated since the early 2nd century and the churches built around them show us that tradition for venerating continued throughout the ages.
