Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What travellers are saying
- KylaNorth Prairie, WI211 contributionsWe were in town for a quad city storm hockey game and enjoyed it. The arena was clean although I didn’t ever use the restrooms. The concessions were limited and busy.Written 8 February 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Danielle FEaston, MO53 contributionsA great way to spend an hour. We enjoyed the ride! You don’t have to get off—you can stay on and just ride through the stops. I ordered our tickets through the app and it couldn’t have been any easier.Written 6 August 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - travelerhughBelleville, IL97 contributionsExcellent and informative (and free) tour by a knowledgeable guide with good humor. Learned about John Deere and the beginnings of the manufacturing in Great Detour IL and then Moline and beyond. The 2 mansions (now part of a foundation) showed the affluence of the second and third generation of the family as well as its generosity toward the local community including the Congregational Church. Providing these facilities for local not-for-profit organizations at minimal cost demonstrates that industrialists were not totally profit-oriented. The homes show advanced features including showers, other indoor plumbing, and even organs.Written 3 August 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - rduincAnnapolis, MD2,245 contributionsI believe Wharton was home to a professional basketball team many, many years ago if that gives you some idea what this is like. It's a large building, filled with charm and history. Highly recommend visiting this beautiful building, even better if you can catch an event here.Written 19 October 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Hunt901Moline, IL90 contributionsI can't believe that Trip Advisor wants ratings on a cemetery. That being said, this is a beautiful, well maintained cemetery with decades of interesting tombstones. I even believe that Charles Dickens' disowned son is buried here. If you're into cemeteries this might be interesting. As for me, I plan to make an ash of myself upon death as I have in life. So, I won't be caught dead here.Written 14 September 2017This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Paul SMarion1,565 contributionsTo find some seclusion in the city of Moline, follow the signs to this park tucked behind one of the Deere plants (seeding, if I remember right) at the end of First along the border with Rock Island. It is worth it just to see the Deere srt installation steps from the parking lot. The paved lot is not huge but more than roomy enough. On a fall weekend there were maybe a half dozen cars and probably five out six owners and passengers of those were using the shore path and not venturing out to Sylvan Island. After I crossed the pedestrian bridge, I only saw two other people the whole time I was on the trails. There is a fishing pier, views of the man-made island channel and the mighty Mississippi, factory ruins, an old quarry, and woods to explore and escape for an afternoon. There are long and short primary loops plus less maintained connectors so you can take as much or as little time as you like. Strollers are fine on most of the trails but I do not recommend wheelchairs not designed for outdoor use. There are no facilities on Sylvan Island so plan your time accordingly.Written 18 October 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Paul-Jann V332 contributionsWe went here for a late afternoon walk and to enjoy the river. We enjoyed the long walkway. The area was only in fair shape due to recent flooding.Written 26 July 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - theotherjohnDavenport, IA64 contributionsI saw West Side Story performed here and think they did an excellent job. The orchestra was good and the choreography was great. The cast was great and really brought the show to life. I'm going back next Friday!Written 13 July 2017This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - ladynissDavenport, IA1 contributionI'm from the Q.C. and Southpark has went completely down hill. The new addition of Dicks Sporting Goods was the worst decision made ever. This 1 store took away over 20 stores and the entiere food court which had a play area and at least 8 resturant options. They keep closing stores and not adding any new ones. This was once a really nice mall. Its not even worth your time to visit. I'm sure it will be close down by 2020 if no new changes are made.Written 27 February 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
