Luskentyre Isle of Harris
#1 of 82 things to do in Lewis and Harris
My 2 children, the dog and myself stayed on this beach for hours, there are huge sand banks which made for wonderful slides, the sea is very shallow so ideal for those who want a dip or just a paddle in the Atlantic.
T-shirt and shorts, kids in the sea for hours and a thoroughly enjoyable afternoon at such a breathtaking place.

The guide gave a very interesting talk on Iron Age living which was enjoyed by both adults and young children in our family group.
From the outside only a green slanting roof is visible, but for £3 for an adult and £1 for a child (more then worth it) you can discover the great inside!

Kids love it though if you have your kids with you, this might be a good opportunity to teach them some awareness of other people around them and in particular how to stay out of their photo shots.
