One of my fondest memories as a kid visiting my cousins in Marblehead always was going out on the neck and exploring its lighthouse.
Its a great picnic spot and there is room for little kids to run around and even play on the lighthouse.

Also great place for a picnic, playing on the flat green with kids and/or dogs, climbing on the rocks, or just contemplating.
You can hear the waves and the seagulls as you eat lunch with family or friends.
