Race Point Beach

If going by car, there's a nice parking lot right next to the visitor's center where there are bathrooms, a great observation deck, park rangers who can tell you about the area, and a small gift shop.

Herring Cove Beach

The experience of Herring Cove Beach begins with the bike ride to get there -- either via the bike trail through the gorgeous Beech Forest maintained by the National Park Service, or heading west through town.
It is a very peaceful place to sit, swim and watch nature (sea birds, seals, waves and clouds).

This oasis of nature is just outside of town, and very pleasant for walking around the pond, or bicycling thru the Provinceland bike trails.
Beech Forest Trail and Seashore State Park are great places for biking.

The trail is full of hills, switchbacks, and is challenging...but you are rewarded with incredible views and a full tour of the park, from rolling dunes and the sea vistas to scrub pine forests and bogs.
If you have young kids you might want to park near the Beech Forest area and ride form there. Otherwise if you are up for a work out ride the trail from Provincetown or start form Herring Cove beach.
