There are fantastic shaded picnic areas, nice easy hikes, a fun creek to let children wade in, a gorgeous waterfall and playgrounds plus plenty of grassy areas to lay or sit.
A beautiful park in the heart of Minneapolis- a great new playground for kids, abundance of walking/hiking, paved biking trails, waterfall, night time music in the summer, great food and beer at Sea Salt!

... next I recalled watching parades from a great vantage point above the streets and how the skyway makes it so much easier to "cross the street" in safety, especially nice when you have a child/children "on tow".
It's absolutely a great way to see the sights, and we were able to take in much of the Families Belong Together Rally from the Skywalk.

Plus the kids loved the "train"
They have routes I would not recommend for children on their own, but their service is mostly consistent and very efficient.

The seats were comfortable, the ladies' rooms were clean, and the screens always had something on ( kiss cam, cute kids, get to know the players).
Even with the rain delay/evacuation I had a great time with the children at their Vikings game.

Quiet, reflective, well maintained, separate walking and biking paths, clear indication of path direction, great launch for kids learning to boat or sail, well kept bathrooms and well linked to other parks.
We love going to Lake Nokomis with our family that includes two very young children because the beach is clean and includes a playground, restaurant, lifeguard, easy parking, picnic area and bike paths.

The building itself is beautiful, with a kid friendly area, great food, and friendly knowledgable staff; great variety of exhibits as well...something for everyone!
Impressive use of space to engage the kids with a lot of fun activities but still keep the museum enjoyable for a more contemplative visit for adults.

The Lake Harriet Rose Garden is a great place to spend an afternoon--almost every time I've been I've seen a wedding or prom kids taking pictures in the rose garden.
Most summer evenings you will find families and couples mingling with groups taking photos at this picturesque spot.
