Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This theatre is amazing, the shows are excellent and this theatre is a great resource for the community. They have a little bit of everything to offer. I saw a fiddles and feet show( what could be more east coast than that?!) the staff are all friendly and helpful, you really feel like they are giving their all. Well done 👏👏

A fairly easy trail, except for the last 200 meters which are a bit steeper. We hiked it in the driest part of the summer and guess that the trail is not doable in the spring. The fall at the end is worth the whole trip.

If you can only tolerate one historic home per day, make this the one! Forget stuffy roped off rooms with dusty artifacts; this has wide open rooms absolutely crammed with period materials that tell the story of family, place, society, colonialism, geopolitics, jazz, blueberry muffins and the importance of community. Oh, and Sir Charles Tupper. We went on a miserable day and had fun. On a nicer day, there is a lovely beach to walk along.

I am not going to say anything that hasn’t been said already but we did the beach ride and we are complete beginners and it was a great experience. We were doing a mini tour of Maritime Canada and wanted to try something different so were lucky to get a booking that suited our time in Parrsboro. Bill and Faith were our hosts plus three guests of mixed experience. The horses (Dewy for me) were so well behaved and had obviously done it before so knew the route and also how to keep beginners at ease. We were out for 3 hours which took us on forest paths, the beach and hearing Bill’s (entertaining) stories. Being from the UK we were hoping we might see a bear on our ride and did see evidence they had been about. We did manage to see one from the car the next day on a country road just north of Parrsboro so our holiday mission was complete!

The place is even better than i remember from the summer - the views, the home-cooked vegan meals! the bookstore! the lodging!

We arrived on a rainy afternoon in Parrsboro, it’s great place to get out of the rain and taste an excellent selection of quality beer brewed-on-premise. Our server was great, he was very friendly and knowledgeable. When the clouds finally parted a day later. we were able to sit outside on the front deck with our dog, a beer and enjoy a Parrsboro Thursday night(Wing Night was hoppin’). The Brewery has various theme nights and don’t forget to pick up a mix-6 or 2.

This is a nice antique and vintage shop on Parrsboro's main street. It has the usual bric-a-brac, colored glass, china, costume jewelry, pottery, lighting, furniture, used books, textiles, framed paintings and prints, ship models, and so on. The owners are very nice.

Yesterday my husband and I attended the Art Lab 2024 Season Opening in Parrsboro, NS. What a wonderful way to spend a late afternoon. We were warmly welcomed by our resident artists, invited to see their recent work, and enjoy delicious punch and finger food refrestments. Michael Fuller had a display of his new work, including Girl Without a Pearl Earring, done in Portugal during the pst winter. Jill Langford's fantastic imagy and her cards from nature are a delight to mind and eye.
A special exhibit opened the season. I love the work of Alan Nosworthy, an accomplished art photographer. Some of his evocative black and white art photos were on display. There were beautiful examples of expert rug hooking by Karen Alger, horses in sculpted woodwork, paintings of vanishing rural landscapes photos of once vital industries, and more in the main galley. There are pieces of outstanding fabric art - useful, whimsical and beautiful, by Krista Levy Odlin, loveable dog portraits and more by Krista Wells ( I couldn't resist her cat cards!) and world class art felting by Isadora. A worthwhile visit!

Well, this statue is something you don't see every day, and it was a startling sight. It's near Parrsboro's town hall and across from the park pavilion, which is also unique. The signage states that the statue represents Glooscap, chief god of the Mic Mac. It's 20 feet tall and made of red fiberglass. Note: it was very windy when I saw him, so his hair covered his face, but if you google him you'll see what he really looks like!
