Amazing place with extremely friendly and helpful staff, the lamas and alpacas are adorable and very friendly so there is no need to be scared and I advise everyone to try out this amazing experience.

Had a nice relaxing time over new year at the meditation classes on New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day. Visited the cafe too which was nice.

Lots of memorabilia and some good information on the duo. Highlight was getting to watch a couple of films, forgotten how funny they were. Worth the money to pass an hour in a rainy Ulverston.

The views were amazing and there is a couple of ways up depending on fitness, if you are looking directly ahead at the bottom, the left path is steady but steep, straight up is unsteady and steep, the right is steady and less steep.

Go from ford park (sat nav)

We are from ‘down south’ and we loved it.

If your passionate about candles or Reed Diffusers, then Wax Lyrical have a well stocked factory outlet shop where you can make great savings. We visit usually once, sometimes twice a year to replenish our reed diffusers and to buy Christmas gifts for Family and friends. This was our second visit within
    6 weeks.

Some items, not many are seconds others are new, but there’s many gifts besides candles and diffusers to purchase at reduced prices.

Being only 4 miles from Ulverston we enjoy visiting the local towns along this coast and combine it with an overnight stay.

The cafe is no longer open, it remained closed after Covid. There is plenty of parking, use your sat nav as its off the main road in Lindale.

I stumbled onto Conishead purely by accident on a drive past and returned to visit the next day. Only disappointment was it was bucketing down but still worth the visit. They weren't doing tours but what I did see was beautiful. I was deeply moved by the temple and thoroughly loved the guided meditation. I enjoyed a super latte in the cafe and bought a book in the shop where I got talking to two really lovely people, one a female monk. I woud love to return here one day as I wanted to do the walk to Morecambe Bay but it was too wet on the day I went. Well worth a visit though

We stayed in the Hampsfell Suite. We loved the attention to detail, the bright clean and airy rooms and a welcome pack including fresh bread, jams and honey with milk and butter in the fridge. The gardens are so peaceful and beautiful and it was an easy walk into town. The kitchen is very well equipped. A local large M & S food shop meant we didn’t need to cook, but with the pandemic we didn’t want to eat in restaurants. The rooms are equipped to accommodate disabled visitors with a large walk in shower room. The location is great. Just off good roads but with easy access to the Lake District. We visited Fell Foot Gardens near Windermere, Wast water, Aira Force Falls, Ulswater, Grasmere, Tarn Howes and took a boat trip on Coniston as well as exploring the local town and walking to viewpoints . We were fortunate to get exceptionally beautiful weather to enjoy it all. The price was very reasonable. We were not aware of the Quaker foundation and history prior to booking and this made it even more interesting to us. I would highly recommend this location and would be happy to return.

Lovely little park with a choice of places to eat! We stayed close by and had a lovely wander around the walked kitchen garden. There is a restaurant within the park and next door a cafe that supports the local hospice. We had lunch there and it was lovely inc gf options.

Lovely walk along the old canal. Lots of interesting information boards along the way and a fascinating roller bridge complete with interactive model.
    Great for buggies, wheelchairs.

We walked from Carlisle to stake pass and then had to cut short our walk due to heavy rains. This walk is really good, however, it is not very well way marked, so make sure you do have a map and a garmin. Also, try and avoid heavy rain days as the path can get very tricky.
