Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Stunning gem of a blue flag beach even on a grey cool 'Irish summer' day that will take your breath away. Staffed by lifeguards during the summer months. GO SLOW on the twisty ferny narrow road down to the beach as it is one car width mostly with few pull in spaces to deal with oncoming cars. We didn't explore the OPW heritage site of Derrynane house as the beach was calling us on our first time to this area. Our children both aged under the age of 5 thoroughly enjoyed their dip and paddle and digging in the sand. Lots to explore at this beach: Rockpools and the ruins of an Abbey and graveyard. Carpark with wheelchair parking but not really wheelchair accessible from what I could see unless I missed a trick. Bins: check. Public toilets: 2 toilets in the ladies which were checked whilst I was there. Worth the long drive to get here and bonus if the sun greets you whilst here. We will return one day and hopefully the sun smiles on us that day here.

Visiting Derrynane Abbey (Abbey Island) was unlike any other experience. To reach it, we had to navigate very narrow, windy roads, adding a sense of anticipation to our journey. Once we arrived, we walking across the beach at low tide.

The abbey's location felt remote and special, tucked away along the rugged coastline. As we walked, the sound of waves crashing against the shore surrounded us, making the trek even more memorable.

When we finally reached Derrynane Abbey, its ancient ruins stood quietly, overlooking the sea. Despite its age, the abbey retained a sense of grandeur.

While getting to Derrynane Abbey might require a bit of effort, from navigating narrow roads to crossing the beach, the adventure and the abbey's beauty make it absolutely worth it. It's a unique experience that we'll always remember fondly.

Absolutely loved the experience. John was a great captain and great fun. His knowledge and stories of the area made the trip. We had 10 or so folks on our boat so it's an intimate experience as well.

I would highly recommend South Kerry Cycles if you want to hire an electric bike in Kerry. Excellent quality bike was delivered to me together with helmet and lock.

Being aware that I would struggle with hilly terrain on my own standard bike, I decided to go for an electric bike and I didn’t regret it. There are lots of great cycle routes on quite roads and even the busier roads are easy to manage. The scenery is stunning and hiring a nike is definitely the best way to see it.

Very friendly and professionally run operation that I would not hesitate to recommend.
