Nice place to have a walk or bike ride. Lots of happy dog-walkers and fishermen too. There are wooden activities for children dotted around the park, some are closed. Some paths can be very muddy after rain, but gradually these paths are being seen to. I did not check the cafe this time, but on previous occasions it has been shut, not sure if they plan to open it again. there is a new lake available to walk around, which adds a bit of interest. The longer you stay, the more expensive the car park.

More expensive than expected for a designer outlet, even at sale prices.

All the usual brands one would expect. Nice layout and plenty of parking.

I took my two granddaughters on Friday 6th as I was babysitting during an inset day.
It was brilliant. They both had an amazing time. The 8 year old took lots of pics as she is studying the Stone Age, and I had to drag the 4 year old on from all the interactive activities.
So much has changed for museums now. I remember clearly, as a child ( 1960s) vaguely gazing at endless boring glass cases. My parents were both headteachers and I’m sure they saw this as an extension to my education. Sadly, I learned very little from these visits.
Both my granddaughters were thrilled with our day out and I’ve recommended the museum to other parents.
Keep up the great work. Loved it.

We visited with a friend as we were in the area. Didn't see any staff at all but had a nice wander round the barns and gardens. The displays in the exhibition barn and the granary were very good and informative. Nice to see the buildings being preserved. The garden was interesting even though not much out this time of year. In summer would be amazing.

We stopped off at this park on our way back from town and enjoyed strolling around it on a sunny day. It’s not particularly large but it is well maintained with a nice variety of flowers and trees, and a pond full of water lilies at the end. There is free parking on the road opposite (maximum stay of one hour) which was handy. Would visit again if we were nearby.

We visited as a group on a familiarisation trip and were very impressed, would love to return. So much history with a difference and very good speakers. The shop was beautiful and sold lovely gifts at good value prices. Thoroughly recommend

The tired old market - well we did move away in 2015 - needed a lift and this is it. A recent nostalgia trip showed us a buzz and people relly committed to their wares.Well done.

Visited on Sunday 21st March 2021. Parked at Rayne Station which is a short drive from Braintree Freeport Shopping Village. Limited parking as the station has 3 attractions in the form of The Railway Carriage Museum and The Booking Hall Cafe, but parking is free. At this location, you have a choice of heading to Braintree (2 Miles) or Witham (12 Miles) or in the other direction Great Dunmow (7 Miles) or Bishops Stortford (16 Miles). This is detailed on convenient decorative signposts put up around the time of the Millenium, which also details that this route is on the National Cycle Network as route 16. We chose to head towards Great Dunmow for a few miles, and being an ex-railway line it benefits from both being elevated and reasonably flat, with good path drainage. When walking consider that this is not a circular walk so in terms of effort whichever way you walk, your going to have to walk back again. Not a lot to see views wise on the few miles we did but seemed popular with walkers and cyclists.

Lovely place for a wedding, very grand and elegant! Also have a very nice Christmas fayre here. I would say it's the gem of the town centre. The surrounding areas aren't the best though, opposite Tesco and some little fish and chip shops. Overall, nice venue and I love the Christmas fayre here it's really cute!

This is a nice little museum with some interesting history of Great Bardfield, photos of the area and various artefacts. Weirdly the photo attached to this listing looks like it is actually of the Cage which is a tiny lockup down the road from the Cottage Museum itself, but also worth a visit.
