Farmers’ markets are often a let down, advertised as one thing but inevitably full of tat when you actually get there. That isn’t the case in Harpenden, there are actual farmers! The Town Council seem to keep a firm grip on who can have a stall and it pays off as every stall is full of something wonderful and there is such a range. There is a definite bias towards food but also wood crafts, some jewellery and homewares. There is a lot of choice when it comes to meat, with several local farms and some from further a field present. The Oslinc stall is work a visit for an ostrich burger straight from the grill and a selection of exotic burgers to take home (including crocodile, wild boar and zebra). There is one fish shall and it is always busy, so get there early as if the queue is anything to go by, this is decent seafood. There is local honey, curry pastes, fresh dim sum and reportedly the best bacon butty around (I personally don’t agree). There is always plenty of fresh produce, I had asparagus and watercress (both local) when it was in season. There is something for everyone and you won’t be disappointed.

I walked The Nickey Line from Harpenden to Welwyn; what a delightful route that has many points of interest.

There are numerous bluebell locations along the old railway line. At a few locations, there are some historical references and education points.

Along my walk, there were dog walkers, runners and cyclists that showed it’s a popular path for many.

An excellent, free and healthy place to spend a few hours with my dogs and granddaughter. The volunteers have really made a big difference with recent enhancements and the new boardwalk is an exciting way to see the wildlife and habitat. The information boards are very helpful.

Saw a pantomime show with family and young children , of Beauty and Beast. The presentation was satisfactory and nicely done. The hall ,sound effects are satisfactory but the seating is uncomfortable for a long stint. Availability of few snacks and drinks is there too. Overall a satisfactory experience experience.

From the moment we saw Aldwickbury we knew that it was the venue for us, from our first initial meeting with Holly to my many emails with Mimi, I just knew our day was going to be amazing. I cannot fault anything because every single person who was working on the day of our wedding could not do enough for us. (A very special mention to Bobby who was absolutely fantastic) Thank you Aldwickbury for truly making our day the most special day of our lives. Mr and Mrs Davies 30.04.2022

We recently had afternoon tea here following my Father’s Thanksgiving service. The staff helping to plan the event were very efficient.
On the day the staff were lovely. We had a buffet but they were coming to the tables offering further drinks and food as needed. It is a lovely room looking out over the green and has good acoustics. The food was incredible and we have had many people comment about how much they enjoyed it. I particularly enjoyed the macarons and the chocolate dipped strawberries.
The whole place has a very friendly atmosphere. I suspect it would be great for any event but I would highly recommend for funeral refreshments. Thank you

Poped in on a Friday afternoon. Very friendly staff and nice atmosphere. Food was a touch salty for our liking but I would eat there again.

A lovely place to sit amongst the mayhem under tree and get lost into the flowers decorated by the council.

Just off the High Street, St Nicholas Church is a nice looking building.

It is very close to the War Memorial and there is a small parking area outside the front.

Our Lady of Lourdes Church is very close to Harpenden town centre.

It is just off the High Street and very close to the War Memorial. According to the sign outside the front of the building it has a number of mass services during the week and three services on a Sunday.
