having read the reviews thought we should go, its quite fascinating. Down some steps into a tunnel made of natural stone and then in the Grotto which is an incredible piece of work. Fortunately it wasn’t too busy when we went, the passages are narrow and theres not a lot of room. You need some space for a photo opportunity.
As many have mentioned an excellent gift shop with plenty of choice.

An absolutely brilliant visit to see Santa in a quirky and atmospheric setting. Everyone has gone to a huge effort to make the whole experience run smoothly and decorate the space. Our visit was well organised, with plenty of Elves on hand to guide us through the caves, and we had a generous amount of time to talk to Santa. We left with a lovely present to open on Christmas Day.

There are craft activities on site too, although our little one is too small to participate this year.

We finished our trip with a stop off in the cafe - excellent food and service. We couldn’t have asked for a better time.

Visiting Santa at Margate Caves had been recommended to us through a relative in Margate, and we travelled from London to see him. We will be back next year.

Fun operating the freight train speed & sounds and to race the Scalextric around Margate track. But like the models, it was on the small side and we were done within half an hour.

Came here to watch Morcheeba and the vibe was really nice and chilled. Initially we had to get the attention of one of the ticket stewards as she was too busy chatting to one of her colleagues for ages seemingly disinterested in customers. The rest of the staff we met were friendly and welcoming.
The layout was nice with plenty of space to stand or sit down on the floor. Lovely venue with plenty of bars and eateries. Pricey but you expect it these days to be honest. We were lucky the weather was fantastic for us and even though I'm a hobbit (5ft 1") could see ok. Sound and lights system was great which really added to the experience. It was great that some of the fairground rides were operational and people were having a great time. Downside were the toilets and they were pretty minging to be fair. I would recommend during events posting staff permanently to ensure toilets are cleaned, unblocked and restocked.
Overall a fantastic outdoor venue for events and we would happily venture here again -weather dependant.

Good sandy beach, plenty of places to walk and spread out and enjoy the beach and the English summer.

    Life guards on duty.

Only downside is the smell of the rotting seaweed (see on line comments for confirm it’s seaweed nothing else]

Chock-a-block with Margate memorabilia. Roy became our own personal guide through the old cells and display rooms downstairs. Upstairs there was more to see in the old court house. The entrance fee of two quid was a bargain.

lovely old hotel, famous for having stars past and present, when you walk in you step back intime, its 1930s allover again to present day it has lots of character. old fashioned bar has paintings and statues then you can walk out onto the verander and sit among the flowers and bushes with bird s churphing away whilst hearing the sea not fair away.Once you check in you head to the original old fashioned lift with the pull sliding doors with space for 2 persons in side that takes you up 3 floors smoothly. on the second floor amongst the guest bedrooms you find a museum of orginal items collected and kept by the owner showing history of old margate very interesting, head into our bedroom turns you into a classic twin bedroom vintage bathroom and balcony with great views and room enough for 2 to barsk in the hot sun and enjoy the view

It is a lovely building with huge space to display modern art, but there’s not much on display. What is on show may not be everyone’s cup of tea. However, they do sell cups of tea (and coffee too) in their cafeteria which might be more appealing for some visitors.

Vintage shops, funky eateries and old pubs. Enjoyed wandering through the few small streets. Eagle-eyed viewers of Location, Location, Location might even spot a property featured on a recent programme.

Perfect night out in a perfect venue with perfect piece of stunning acting (wow).
What a gem Tom Thumb theatre is.
Alex and Sarah couldn't be more welcoming and professional.
Please Arts Council don't let this go! It would be a huge mistake.
    Definitely coming back.

A charming, quirky, educational little museum clearly run by people with a wonderful sense of humour who feel passionately about our crustaceous friends and the environment.

Alongside the witty exhibits and displays (including the laugh out loud one in the loo) we were treated to a fun, interactive microscope show of various hairy, crusty, bug eyed creatures and all for FREE!

Yes, there are some messages about the impact of capitalism on our climate but frankly, anyone who is offended by those are the ones most in need of visiting this place…

Go and visit (and join/buy some stuff on the way out!)

A pretty house and gardens. A volunteer gave me plenty of info on the building's history (probably more than I needed!). A visit can be completed in 30 minutes.
