- Robert V1 contributionNot a great fan of contemporary art but loved this visit because it stimulated my brain in a variety of ways. The Stephen Cripps exhibition gradually drew me in from scepticism to complete absorption. A fascinating character. This is not an Uffizi exhibition, where one can feel madonnaed out. It's an exploration of a creative person's mind, which left me determined to find out more about Stephen Cripps - though no book in the bookshop! Then, the Durer polyhedron-inspired experience plays with the mind in different ways - in particular gazing down into the water-pulsating balls with constantly shifting shapes and colours as if alive. Surreal. Then there was my first experience of virtual reality, after 15 minutes of which it took me some time for my mind to come down to a steadiness of perception. The teleautomata display presented some brilliant use of collage, which I regret not having time to appreciate properly - each work needs time to examine the intricate interweaving of material, shape etc. Please, go with an open mind and your intelligence fully engaged. The Turner gallery is exploring the Waste Land of modern life - and for God's sake, it's free! - Bill G1 contributionLoved popping in and out of the little galleries dotted around Margate, best of which by a mile was Kill Me Now. Picked up some great independent art zines and had a nice chat with the owners who were really lovely and happy to chat with us about all the artists and nicer still, tell us what was happening around town and generally be cool to us.
The guy that runs it is also one of the featured artists there and his stuff is absolutely excellent, said i'd be back one day to buy an original and do intend to do so!

Lindsey Mendick was having her first ever sole exhibition “Off With Her Head'. I have followed the gallery on insta for some time so was familiar with some of Lindsey work but really didn’t know too much about this exhibition . From the moment we entered the first room we were blown away . Immersive, poignant, entertaining yet strong is the only way I can describe it . It defies words and really needs the reader to visit . As someone who regaarly visits galleries worldwide and collect contemporary art I felt this was, by far, one of the very best I have ever experienced . I got to sue a quick hello to Rob but he was in a rush so didnt have the opportunity to really thank him for putting on such an amazing exhibition . Watch our Lindsey as she sis going places: I am coming back to Margate just to see it again (this time with my Partner )

Incredible how much is available in a relatively small space. Great options to buy, if you're stuck for a gift.
