Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What travellers are saying
- Christina C11 contributionsVisited the winery with a group of friends and was really impressed with the experience. Our tour guide was Charlie and he was really engaging and informative, taking the time to answer our extra questions, helped us to take group photographs and just made it a really enjoyable experience. Some of the rest of the group got a little loud and raucous during the wine tasting part of the experience and we all thought that he handled it very well, and still managed to deliver his wine info, and re engage the group. Learnt so much from the tour and really enjoyed all the wines. Also learnt that Chapel Down make Gin too, and received a complimentary taste of their gin as well. Would thoroughly recommend this tour, a really great experience!Written 7 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. My very favorite shop was Raffman & Huckster at 38 High St. self-described as “Conscious Miscellany.” I would describe it as a carefully curated collection of every type of wooden implement in all price ranges.
We contented ourselves on the first visit with a small wooden honey dipper. We had to go back for the most beautiful feather duster despite our overfilled luggage. The charming director wrapped it perfectly. It fit!Written 26 May 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The exhibits are well set out and there is plenty of information about them, including interactive displays. There is a nominal charge (£3 when I was there) but, when you see what is inside, it is well worth this fee. There is also a car park right outside.Written 23 June 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

- IestynapGLondon, UK88 contributionsthis is a wonderful trail through the High Weald AONB. Although close to London it feels undiscoverd and undistrubed. Classic English countryside at its best with woods, vistas, villages and pubs.Written 28 October 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Nicola CMaidstone, UK92 contributionsBeautiful hidden park. It beautiful and quiet to just sit and look at the plants and have sometime out from the hustle of the high street. Lots of people come and sit here. Beautiful little hidden gemWritten 28 May 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Geoff HSissinghurst, UK17,265 contributionsThe Barn Theatre is an intimate little theatre at Smallhythe. If you are in the area, it is certainly well worth your while seeing if a production is scheduled and, if so, getting tickets for the production. Drinks and snacks are available beforehand in the 'Theatre Tea Rooms' and interval drinks can be pre-ordered so you don't have to queue. We went to see a production of Great Expectations which was excellent. It was even more noteworthy because, just before the end, there was a thunderstorm right overhead which caused a power cut. Ten out of ten to the actors, who, seemingly without batting an eyelid, continued the production with only emergency lighting.Written 8 June 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
