Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Hadn't been since I was a kid....So as we were visiting Knaresborough thought we'd have a couple of hours there!
Fortunately it was a sunny day, and the walk was nice.
Nice additions to the site too....enjoyed looking in the shop at the end and made a couple of purchases!
    Really enjoyed it....

Stumbled on the castle by accident as we pulled into the car park . Had wander around , the grounds and green areas very well maintained. History available either via the museum or information boards.
Stunning views of the viaduct from the walled area. Plenty of seats to just sit and take in the view.
    Enjoyable wander round....
One thing maybe the big black bin could be moved to the other side of the path as photo wise it looks awful in front of the castle ...

Beautiful walks along the river Nidd. Lots of different options. Accessible from the Castle and also from the big carpark at Conyngham Hall. Easy terrain.

We had our wedding here and it was just perfect. The team of co-ordinators are so helpful and made the process of planning so much easier. The guests loved the venue and found it easy to find places to stay nearby. The photos are unbelievable! Food from Bradshaws was absolutely brilliant too!

A Beautiful garden. Restful and relaxing. Peaceful even though in the centre of town. A hidden gem and well looked after

What an amazing spectacle - the history simply oozes out of the structure. You can walk right under it or walk up to one of the most attractive train stations I've ever seen just at the end of the viaduct with a traditional level crossing which is automatically locked when trains come & go (of which there were plenty). An engineering marvel.

Very beautiful and calm. Lots of birds including swans. Fun scrambling up the rocks. It is a sunny day today, it is probably less fun here in the rain or mud

Today I visited the two day Knaresborough Christmas market.
Very crowded, they had a brass band playing and the town crier was there in his uniform and bell.
Overall an enjoyable day out, but not really very Christmasy, more like the normal market just at Christmas time.
The streets around the place were doing a brisk business with all the tourists. The place is very dog friendly, I've never seen so many dogs in a market.
Some unusual sights, a butchers shop with 20 or 30 dead pheasants hanging up outside.
Note, this is NOT a German or European market. It's a traditional English one.
I arrived and left by train, the train station is well maintained and classy, with a bar, antique shop etc. I felt like in a time warp, 2022 or is it 1922?

Was debating about a 3 because the information board is bafly weathered and the current access is poor, being a mud path as the steps are closed.
It's a really quirky little chapel that is only open limited times.
Worth a visit for it's uniqueness.

It is at the edge of Market Place and Silver St. The cross base is the original from the beginning of 18th century but the cross itself is a replica made in 20th century. Apparently it's a busy place when there's a market and the people can sit on the base steps. Around are a few benches with two statues. Nice place to rest a little bit and make a few photos or to talk with locals like we did.

Went to see “it’s a fair cop” with Alfie and it was excellent. A was a full house and the first time I had seen or heard of him - it was our friends recommendation. Can’t wait until he comes back.
The theatre is lovely, clean and friendly with a n amazing atmosphere.
