Gallery of world renowned fine art landscape photographer Joe Cornish. The Joe Cornish Gallery is located in the North Yorkshire county town of Northallerton on the edge of both the North York Moors and Yorkshire Dales National Parks. Built in 1736 to house the North Riding of Yorkshire Registry of Deeds, Grade II listed Register House is full of all the alcoves, nooks and crannies that you would expect of a building of the period. Set over two floors, Joe and his team have married the character of the building with a warm and welcoming feel and a desire to make the gallery and the art as accesible as possible. The gallery staff understand that buying art is a personal experience and are on hand to offer all the assistance and advice you may require. We are also members of Own Art, the Arts Council England Initiative which provides an interest free purchase scheme to make buying art, simple and affordable. The gallery holds a permanent exhibition of Joe's work as well as his print archive. After undertaking a long printing apprenticeship, Joe now handprints each photograph in his North Yorkshire studio. Printed from very high-resolution files and onto the latest matt papers to ensure the highest quality, they are then mounted with conservation grade, acid free board. Prints come in varying degrees of limited edition and are priced accordingly. In addition to Joe's work, the gallery also exhibits work by other photographers, artists and craftspeople ias well as hosting regular craft and photographic workshops and cultural events. Joe is keen to promote the cause of the community of nature photographers and to that end the gallery reflects a broad spectrum of work and provides a shop window for new and upcoming talent. The gallery's standing as a destination as much as an exhibition space is enhanced by a cafe serving locally sourced and freshly made food. A gallery shop selling prints, cards and work by local artists, designers and craftspeople completes the layout of the gallery building.

Beautiful building and gardens and a nearby lovely country walk. My girlf and I had a lovely day.
I wouldn’t say it’s cheap, but it is worth the money.
The cafe is lovely in nice weather when you can sit outside.

We had a wander round the gallery before having a coffee. The photographs on the walls are amazing but they look very pricey. I couldn't understand why some were much more expensive than others - I assume it depends on how many prints are made. Also it would be interesting to know if any digital enhancement had been carried out. They are beautiful nonetheless.

Fascinating church in the middle of Northallerton. Spectacular stained glasses windows - so much history in this small church

This is an attractive privately owned golf course.

The course is challenging and there is a very impressive covered and floodlit astroturf driving range.

    The clubhouse is also impressive.

What a fantastic play space for the kids and a large sitting area for us Grandparents! As well as being good for the kids, I have to say that the food is excellent and service is always good.
I believe they have now started a food collection service, which has to be worth a try.
Great for kids and good for food

This is a very large and smart looking nursery and I was impressed with the use of large covered tunnels that allow browsing most of the outdoor area without getting cold and wet. The selection of plants etc is vast and the other parts of the shop with tools, pots etc is also very good.
We didn’t try the cafe as it was lunchtime and pretty full - so I guess it must be popular.

This is a good little place and staff are helpful. There are plenty of leaflets of the local area and places that are a bit further a field. They also sell some second hand books as well. It's well worth a look if you are nearby.

My son and I and a couple of friends went to battle at Point Blank on Saturday 5th Aug,'23. Despite the weather we had an awesome time. We joined a larger team with our four being split 2 on each which made it more fun. The staff were fantastic and very professional with a little help from their lovely pet dog. My wife, who was not taking part, came back early to pick us up and was looked after, free of charge, with a lovely cup of tea. Nice touch. Highly recommended, you are guaranteed to have a great day out. Excellent value too.

This is the 5th time myself and a mate have visited. Today I was looking for a change of Shotgun. ( apologies to the gentleman in the gun room as I cannot remember his name). I was made welcome in the Gun room and as I am left handed a bit more of a challenge. I was allowed to take 2 different Guns on the shoot to try without any pressure. I was a bit embarrassed at all the question I was asking but the gentleman took the time to explain everything to me.
After a good hour and a half I purchased one of the Guns I had tried.
Thanks to the gentleman in the Gun-shop and also the lady on the reception desk.

    See you again soon.
