As always we had a great day at the Races and a lovely meal in the restaurant. It's our favourite Racecourse, everyone is very friendly and always a good atmosphere.

While it does not have its own car park there is plenty of space in the town/market square and it’s only a few minutes walk to the castle. The grounds are dog friendly only the museum part does not allow dogs. Some great views of the town and river Swale.

Well worth a visit- fascinating, well laid out, the best exhibition and lovely staff. The medal room is outstanding. Brilliant for all ages and parking is free!
It is a beautiful setting and with a really good quality gift shop. I can't recommend this highly enough.
Great places to eat and shop outside in the marketplace too.

Lovely grounds to explore and good information boards. A beautiful, peaceful place with a great walk along a dismantled railway line into Richmond. Car park is quite small.

I visited the Museum yesterday for the first time on my way back from the gym and what a hidden gem! full of relevant information about the history of the town. I was presently surprised on how well maintained it was and how well everything was displayed. The volunteers there are doing a great job.

Much bigger then how it looks on the outside this place of wonder and history is worth a visit. I will certainly be going back when I have more time to explore!

Visited The Station for breakfast, following a walk to Easby Abbey to work up our appetite. We had three different meals from the menu, all very nice. Lovely coffee….flat white was excellent. Nice atmosphere. The the staff were very caring with their elderly customers, nice to see.

This is a hidden gem. My children (7 and 9) love it here. We have seen so much wildlife, including moths being released after a moth survey, newts, an enormous array of fungi this autumn, curlews, a green woodpecker, water fowl, invertebrates, butterflieswe didn;t recognise and the scratches of an owl's talons on a nest box (we didn't see the owl, but that's our aim for next time!). We visit Foxglove every time we are in the area visiting family. There is always someone friendly and knowledgeable in the visitor centre to answer any questions or suggest something interesting to see, depending on the season. Inside the visitor centre there are lots of things to look at and learn about if you ever need to shelter from the rain for a bit.
For anyone who is bringing children, or who wants to learn a bit more about anything on the reserve, there are also two brilliant files in the visitor centre with suggested topics to guide your visit, with questions and learning points - the sort of thing that some visitor attractions offer, but I've never seen anything so organised, with so much variety before.

Fantastic farm shop stocked with an abundance of items, from cheeses, to fine wines, meats, sweets, and treats, as well as soft furnishings, greetings cards, preserves, and treats, to animal foods and toys, as well as lots of items for children. A good, but busy tea room, or pick your lunch to take away, from an array of pre-packed sandwiches, crisps, pies etc.

Expensive and busy, but worth a visit.

I visited this lovely town garden in early June. The garden is not at present open to the public, but I was allowed to see it as a special favour. I’ve been before, but have never seen it looking so beautiful. Masses of pink shrub roses, magnolia wilsonii still in flower, a wild profusion of hostas, alliums, ferns, peonies, a golden hop, in this unique setting with views of the castle above. What an experience. Thanks to Austin and Tim, who also run a delightful guest house here.

I sent an email today to Richmond Information Centre asking if we could book a parking space on a market day in March. Nick replied swiftly stating no, but gave me a car park that is only 5 minutes walk from the market place. He even gave me the postcode to get there. I shall inform the friends we are meeting there and they can use the same car park as us. How's that for efficiency?
