Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Steart Marshes is quite close to me so I tend to go down there so I can sit in one of the warm hides lots to see even if it is pouring down all day

Excellent museum in the old house (tucked down a side street) which belonged to Admiral Blake. The artefacts and photos on display are excellent -info on the Battle of Sedgemoor and local industry over the decades all very interesting. I had a very warm welcome from the volunteers who care for it. I highly recommend that you seek it out!

Lovely gardens with a huge array of plants and well tended.
Also visited the shop and tea room.
A very helpful young man in the tea room but was confused by the pricing of the sandwiches. If you have a cheese and ham sandwich toasted it costs an extra 70p but if you have a cheese and tomato sandwich toasted it costs 80p ( confused as to why it costs that much to toast a sandwich and why some sandwiches are cheaper to toast ) and a side salad costs £1.50, most cafes this comes free with the food.
The coffee was very good though.

Such a lovely vineyard and welcoming owners. Would highly recommend a visit if you're in the area! We visited on a Saturday in October so tours had finished for the season but we were provided with a map and could do a self-guided tour. We then had a personal wine tasting where the owners talked us through each of the wines which was amazing. So knowledgeable and friendly and our dog really enjoyed playing with the other dogs on-site!

The ruins of the 18th century church of St Michael are at the top of a steep hill overlooking the Somerset Levels. It has a memorial plaque to those men of Somerset who died in the two World Wars. It is well worth the climb to get a panoramic view over the levels, particularly when they are flooded. The floodwater attracts a variety of waterfowl and waders. There is a small, free car park at the bottom of the hill.

    Had such a great time.
So relaxing. The alpacas were so friendly.
Really enjoyed making a fuss of all the sheep and chickens as well.
Sue made the experience so enjoyable and was very knowledgeable about all the animals.
Look forward to coming back again soon.

There is some really lovely countryside near the canal - particularly Maunsel Lock. Would definitely recommend the drive but it’s worth noting nearer to Taunton than Bridgwater

The theatre is brilliant, the staff are helpful, We saw The Lorna & Laister show, all I can say is wow, what a great show, the singing, dancing and comedy was brilliant, the lighting was just right., also the sketches and routines are put together by Lorna and Steve If the show comes near you, you have to see it, lots of laughter and sing alongs well worth the money.

Great afternoon spent at this small but ever expanding museum. Has certain advertised steam days where you can see all the pumps in action, and a small train ride. But my daughter’s favourite part of the day was seeing the working blacksmith who was very informative and kept her captivated for a considerable amount of time!! Well done all and keep up the good work!!

Very interesting and a good prelude to walking the battlefield. It put the battle in context - also the tragedy and waste of lives involved.

Booked here for 3 nights in one of the larger bell tents. Arrived taken straight to or accommodation, wow. Clean, well proportioned and airy. We were given a basket of wood (for the fire pit) and a bag of coal for the BBQ. Had a walk round the farm spotlessly clean, toilets and showers are the portable type, but don’t let this fool you they were immaculate. Pizza Wednesday and Friday is a must. The pizzas are made fresh to order and cooked in a traditional pizza oven, and the chef has a keen eye for flavour combinations, the curried coleslaw is to die for. The entire site is a fantastically run one. Every member of staff went above and beyond to ensure our stay was more than expected. Couldn’t fault the site, the area is a fantastic base for exploring the area. If you are undecided then I hope this review helps. Definitely going back. Well done to all concerned fantastic effort. Oh and if you can drag yourself out of your beds the animal feeding at 830am is a really nice touch. Farmer John and the piggies is a sight to behold.
