Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What a fantastic day, we arrived at Trials Day with great trepidation, ages ranging from my 20 year old daughter, who had never ridden a bike, to a good friend of 70 odd years old. Although we were seasoned bikers, none of us had ridden trials bikes before. Stu and his team are absolute professionals with teaching skills to match. My daughter received one to one tuition and was up on the pegs and riding within in minutes, a big proud dad moment for me. The rest of us were put through our paces with a warm up and stretches, reacquainting us with muscles long since forgotten. Instructors, Stu and Ian are incredibly engaged in ensuring everyone gets the most from the day. Although in a group, everyone gets individual attention and instruction where needed. By the time we parked the bikes up at the end of the day, we had had an absolute blast, and aside from a lot of giggles along the way, we had all learnt some new skills. Thank you to Stu and the team at Trials Day.

We were expecting a quick visit but our guide, Winston, made the experience fascinating. His depth of knowledge was matched by his humour. All the volunteers were friendly and welcoming and the visit was a hilight of our day. Our volunteer guide also suggested visiting Ilam which we did , enjoying an afternoon walking there. The whole affair is operated by volunteers who should be proud of their achievements.

First visited here back in July 2023 just after it had opened when I had my daughter's 7th birthday party here. The party was amazing and the staff were very attentive and helpful. Hadn't been back again until today when I visited with my son. Again the staff were very attentive and helpful. My son and I both had a meal and drinks here and I thought the prices were very reasonable and the food was very tasty. The play facilities are brilliant with areas for babies and toddlers as well as primary school aged children. My son had a whale of a time here today and was disappointed when we had to leave. We will be back again soon!

There’s lots of car parks in Leek, long and short stay. The easiest one for here is probably in the market square. Then you just walk across the main road and downhill a few yards.
The museum is only small but there’s lots of stuff here. I particularly liked the wallaby. There’s lots of info about the silk industry (for which Leek was famous) even some silk worms. The staff were very friendly and informative. The building is interesting too for its architecture, as are many buildings in Leek.
    Worth a trip.

Went to a music gig here on a Saturday night, wasn't that busy at all, building is lovely, staff were really nice but for some reason they made people queue to get to the bar to get a drink.

It was the second time that day in Leek that you were made to queue to get to the bar, oddly, the queue probably took up more space than standing at the bar waiting, the poor girl at the check in table was surrounded by perplexed punters having to line up around her.

Interesting guided tour around this historic water mill. It was designed and built by the early canal engineer James Brindley, and there’s a small museum about his life and works upstairs.

Once again wine and whiskey come up trumps for the wife’s birthday evening and she actually got a cake thrown in as well. We tasted port, gin and whiskey and some superb drinks were tasted. Ann Marie and David make the night fantastic with no stone unturned to make sure you have the best of nights, thank you both and see you soon

Misco chocolates are the most wonderful chocolates I have ever tasted. There are such a wide variety of flavours and all are gorgeous. What a talent they have for creating chocolates. I am so sad to hear that the shop is closing. Thank you for the delicious experience of your chocolates.

Been here many times now and well worth a mention now. With smile as you enter from the friendly bar staff you feel quite at house and in winter with the fire going it’s heaven. Good selection of draft and hand pulled beers to go at you are spoilt for choice,I do like the bass, well kept. So cheers to the cobbler

Going to a pub as a group of 10 (5 couples) can sometimes be a challenge but the Cock Inn is a big pub so we had space. The bar staff were also quick to serve.

There was a great blues singer on Saturday night which helped create a buzzing atmosphere. Clientele was both young (over 18) and old!

Joules ale is always good, particularly when kept well (which it is at The Cock).

Whilst we didnt eat on this occasion we have done before and were pleased with what we got.

One of our go pubs if out in Leek, why not give it a go?

An amazing experience from start to finish. All the staff when above and beyond to make the night special for all the children and adults. Such a wonderful experience, I would definitely book the polar express again. Xx
