What travellers are saying
- Fred_likes_Bread27 contributionsWe visited the Croydon Airport museum on one of its rare monthly open days, and am so glad we did!
The building is fantastic. Our tour guide, Graeme, was superb! He knew his stuff and paced the tour perfectly.
For any fans of history, aviation and cool buildings, this is a must do. If you’re a local - no excuse to not visit on an open day and support the charity.Written 3 July 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - AngieLondon, UK14 contributionsIt was very quiet, probably because it is not well-known as much, but it is really nice and I recommend it.Written 19 October 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.

- Mushr00mm26Greater London, UK49 contributionsClean, quiet and peaceful! I come here almost every day with my dog for a long walk. There’s free street parking right outside the woods. The view from the top is breathtaking!Written 20 July 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Ceri gSwansea, UK321 contributionsIt’s easy by to find and there’s a lot of shops available and places to eat. Everything was clean including toilets and it was only 5 quid to park all day.Written 9 January 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- suejb22Croydon, UK33 contributionsThe windmill has Open Days for visiting where you can have a free guided tour. It is all run by volunteers. Tea and cake are also on offer on. Well worth a visit. Signs on the road tell you where you can park as the windmill is in the middle of residential housingWritten 4 September 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- John WCroydon, UK991 contributionsI have been visiting the Minster for years and the choir and organ are excellent - Christmas 2019 MIdnight Mass on TV.Written 7 January 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Mike P2 contributionsFound this garden park and pond by accident looking at a map of Croydon. It is in the Shirley area of Croydon and has a lovely pond and is good for a short walk around with plenty of seats if you feel tired or want to read a book! Good to see no rubbish around too! - eigna08Surrey143 contributionsHave visited this area since childhood (50+) years. We've always known the area as Shirley Hills and will continue to do so. We've had many family get togethers of up to 60+ People for birthday parties with treasure hunts to picnics. Sadly this doesnt continue now as it became increasingly difficult to arrange for the toilets to be open, along with the mess left behind by a minority people and dog owners made it unsafe for the children. Still good for walks with lovely views from the view point.Written 19 August 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- l0uiseemers0nGreater London, UK4 contributionsVery disappointed with sound quality, considering the millions spent on refurbishing the venue -speakers in boxes overlooked. Luther UK exceptional considering the conditions they had to work with.Written 3 May 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- CarolynMLondon, United Kingdom4 contributionsThis church gave me an opportunity to connect in a different way. Very welcoming Priest & Members. Close to shopping area opposite the home office. Midday mass on weekdays.Written 17 June 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- John WCroydon, UK991 contributionsThere are lots of Masses here and during the week as well. Very mixed congregation and plenty going on.Written 7 January 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- MattNewellPortsmouth2 contributionsAlways one of my favourite places to walk the dog or go for a trail run. It's so quiet and peaceful and the woods are wonderfully maintained by the Friends with beautiful wildflowers everywhere. Have even seen deer a couple of times!Written 22 November 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- David MCroydon, UK8 contributionsThis is one of my favourite shops anywhere! It is full of the most beautiful things; the small and exquisite, the strange but marvellous and I even bought my wife her wedding present here ( a beautiful wide back 19th century arm chair upholster in salmon pink). Oscar, the owner, (or perhaps curator?) is deeply knowledgable about his stock and the much maligned but actually fascinating London Borough of Croydon. It’s one of the places I most miss having moved away after 30 or more years.Written 23 December 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Cyrus MLondon, UK113 contributionsI have come to know Kevin who owns the gallery over the years and I have to give him credit for what he has done. Not only has he managed to introduce contemporary pop art into one of the most socially ravaged suburbs of London (the last place on earth you would expect to find art buyers is Croydon) but he has single handedly managed to undertake the total transformation of Croydon forward into an open art gallery. He has brought on board the local authority and has been permitted to give local as well as International artists the opportunity to express their talent across the city of Croydon on billboards, buildings and public frontages.
In addition to this dedication to the locality Kevin and his team have also managed to gather a fabulous collection of genuine (and often remarkable) works of art which are available to buy ranging across the spectrum of pop art, street art and into contemporary works including stunning and imaginative installations and works on canvas and paper and (yes) concrete too! All the big names are available for purchase or if you cannot afford to buy there is always a great selection of works on display to view. Well worth a visit for anyone even mildly interested in learning about artWritten 19 April 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
