Driving to Ecola State Park at the north end of Cannon Beach is easy and great fun to drive through a residential area and then into the forested winding drive with moss covered trees while spotting deer at times.

It may be different during the height of tourism in the summer, but we loved the ruggedness and wild of Hug Point State Park in late September.

Located at the south end of Cannon Beach, this state park is free and offers beautiful beach access to the stretch of beach including view of Haystack rock.
It was easy to park and then we would ride our bikes down on the beach.
