This is 20 minutes away from where I live and it’s taken me until I’m 68 to visit it! Great walks by the side of the river and through the forests, short and medium lengths routes to choose from. Mill wasn’t open due to repairs so can’t comment on that.

If you're staying in Hebden Bridge, it's well worth the (hilly) walk to Heptonstall. We primarily went to visit Plath's grave, but there was also a lovely old ruined side-by-side with a new church nearby. Local cafes in the area are also nice to visit before the walk back.

We had a lovely walk along the canal side. We enjoyed looking at all the canal boats and the ducks. Quiet and picturesque.

Finally got to visit The Trades Club in Hebden Bridge and what an iconic venue, its a must for any music fan. Great friendly staff, nice and cozy venue (holds 200) and a lovely bar upstairs. This is honestly one of the best venues i have been to and fully recommended.

We walked to see this via Jumble Hole Road that eventually leads to join The Pennine Way and reminded me of the time I walked it as part of my Duke of Edinburgh's Gold Award back in the late 1960's.

Nice place to walk around with a great little cafe and toilets in the mill itself. Slightly overpriced but a godsend when you've walked miles and are hungry and thirsty!

Visited on the afternoon of the opening of an art exhibition.
    Met the local Mayoress.
This venue lies a little distance from the centre of Hebden Bridge.
Accessed by means of a cobbled street.
    Well worth a visit.

What a find. This is the smallest and friendliest theatre I have ever been in.
We found this little gem by chance while out walking one day. One visit and I am hooked. This will now become one of my favourite nights out.

Given we have a young Son, we've visited plenty of soft play areas. When we were visiting this area, we popped in for a session.

We all had a great time the entire time we were there, there was a great mixture of activites and it was well laid out, the place was clean, the staff were helpful and it was good value for money. The cakes also looked great but as we had dinner booked afterwards we didn't sample these!

Definitely worth a visit if you have a little one and you're in the area :)

Fustian cutting was a laborious process using a fustian cutting knife. This tool was around 50 centimetres long, and looked like a long spike; about 10 centimetres from the tip, the top edge was sharpened into a blade. It was inserted along the fabric alongside two warp threads, and under the raised weft, and as it was guided forward the blade severed the weft. In corduroy, there were seven ridges to the inch, so along a 31 inches bolt, there would be about 320 cuts to be done.

Fustian knives were used in the manufacture of corduroy, a fabric for which Hebden Bridge was known throughout the world.

This large scale replica of a fustian knife points directly north towards Nutclough Mill, former home of Hebden Bridge Fustian Manufacturing Society Ltd, founded in 1870 - in its day, the largest worker-producer co-operative in Britain. Nearby Pecket Well mill was the last mill in Britain to manufacture corduroy fustian cloth (1858 - 1998).

On the side there are plaques to explain a bit of the history. But if nothing else this sculpture makes you pause and wonder what on earth you are looking at. It is located in a prominent and busy area of the town and it's worth taking a moment to admire.

My partner and I went to a film there when visiting Hebden Bridge for the weekend. The front of house staff were all very friendly, the cinema is beautiful and the visual and sound quality were good. It was encouraging to see so many people attending a fairly obscure film too :)

I love this shop, no visit to Hebden is complete without a visit to this shop. Full of things you’ve not seen in years or never seen before. The staff are lovely, always friendly and always very helpful. The prices are so reasonable too. Gem of a shop.
