Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

    We found Shepperton lock on the River Thames to be very picturesque. The grounds were immaculate, with the flower beds being very colourful and merticulary maintained . There is plenty of bench seating to watch the world and boats go by. There is a nice small cafe called the Riverside Cafe in the grounds. There is also a weir. The lock itself is manned and whilst we were there the pleasure cruiser Walton Lady which was full passed through. All round it was very enjoyable and interesting

    We hired kayaks from a company based in Shepperton Marina for a few hours of kayaking on the Thames. As we kayaked through the marina to the Thames we found the marina to be a lovely tranquil place. It is a wild life haven with a variety of birds ranging from kingfishers, herons, crested grebes, ducks, moorhens and swans. There are a few riverside pubs you can stop at for lunch when kayaking from here which on a nice sunny summers day makes a great day out.

    I am a member at Sunbury and the improvements the greenies have made are getting more noticeable every time I play. Well done everyone.

    My entertainment company was booked for the first time at this lovely cricket club in this leafy village in suburban Surrey. We would give this venue 5 stars for the following reasons

    * Easy access with use of a trolley
    * Very clean and well presented with disabled access to washrooms and to get in
    * Great value drinks and nice bar
    * Lovely atmosphere to enjoy the cricket too
    * Friendly staff

    If you are seeking a great venue to host your event with easy parking, then here is your venue

    This is the first of Shepperton’s ‘pocket parks’, a tiny piece of land previously overgrown and unloved. Now local volunteers have cleared it, exposed the little stream running through it and created a lovely mini park with some seating for people to relax. The crowning glory is the old dinghy, which has been turned into a flower bed facing the roundabout next to the garden and one which is a blaze of colour. A brilliant local project for the village community.

    This lovely little church near Shepperton Studios is thought to have been established by Benedictine monks from nearby Chertsey Abbey in 1135, but like most surviving mediaeval churches it has been much altered over the centuries. The bell tower dates from Tudor times. The font is 13th century, its cover was added in the 15th century. The chancel was extended in the 18th century. Fortunately, it seems to have escaped being given a Gothic makeover in Victorian times. The church also owns six exquisite paintings of the Saints thought to be by the 14th century Florentine artist called Jacopo di Cione. They were hung in the church until they were moved to the National Gallery in the 1970s, where they can be seen in Room 60. There is a small replica of them on display in the church. The interior is lovely though a little dark. A decorative feature are the funerary hatchments, hung as usual as diamonds rather than squares. Very well worth visiting, but check opening times because I tried for many years to get inside the building without success. Parking is close by in Magdalene Road.

    There's very little green space in Shepperton, with the River Thames as one boundary, a golf club, a railway line and main roads on the other three sides. So this park is a welcome and excellent facility for local people. It's not a huge park, but big enough to host football matches. It has a good playground for younger kids and plenty of benches to sit on to relax or have a picnic. There's a reasonable sized car park and more on-street parking nearby. The park is always well maintained. A great place to go on a hot day, or at other times and somewhere for families to picnic, for dog walking or for kids to run off their surplus energy.

    This pub has something for everyone. They have live music 3 nights per week plus a fantastic weekly quiz every Thursday. The quiz is so popular you have to arrive early to secure a seat and table. Warm welcome, great atmosphere and friendly locals ensure an enjoyable evening.
