The views are amazing!! I took lots of photos and the sunsets were the best! Fantastic place, with 3 miles of pristine beach nestled in-between St Ives and Godrevy Lighthouse, a nature reserve on the estuary with hundreds of wading birds...just an amazing, non publicised town, a real gem of a place...only downer was that the bus into Hayle from Haven Riviere Sands stops running on 29 Sept, and so if you don't have a car it leaves you a bit stranded if you're over the age of 70 as I am...otherwise excellent in all you can possibly want for a relaxing break with outstanding views, beach and weather, it being 3° warmer than Yorkshire most of the year....

My wife wanted to visit Gwithian beach as she holidayed with a friend near there as a youth with one of her friends. Suprisingly, when we got there she did not remember it at all!! Anyway, we proceeded to go for a very long, windy but thoroughly enjoyable walk with the pooches on what is one of the nicest beaches I have been on in a long time.
Dogs are welcome on it this time of year (they are restricted to evenings and early morning in the summer) and the beach itself is sandy, flat and nigh on perfect for both the people and the pooches. The dogs had an amazing time too and they gave it a furry five stars for sure.
There were several people attached to big kites who were flying around in the sea, which looked very dangerous, but they seemed happy enough. I will stick to dry land though!
I can imagine it is absolutely heaving during the summer and the car park didn't look that large, so it wouldn't be a place I would want to go mid morning at the height of summer, but for an autumn stroll it was perfect!

Fantastic day out. Keepers are very knowledgeable about all the birds and animals here at the park. Only wish is that the Macaws were out flying for a bit longer around the picnic area

Lovely national heritage area, paths clearly marked. Access to some beach areas, also clear signs to not disturb seals resting in Mutton Cove. We managed to see what I presume was a mother and a couple of seal pups playing in the shallow water

Fabulous view within easy walk of Lelant - park in Lelant or arrive by train! Beach is dog friendly, not crowded - plenty of space for ball games like cricket and rounders. Beach very clean, probably due to no shops, food outlets etc. Estuary adds an additional dimension of interest as do range of well maintained footpaths through the dunes

Love it, loads of bays to use in the driving range and friendly staff. Having the best golf lessons with Jamie at the moment and looking forward to getting out on the course

We popped in here to visit the cafe which is part of Nourish. Chai latte was excellent, really pleasant place to spend some time. We then browsed the eclectic range of artisan independent shops which were also very interesting with many fantastic items for sale.

Very worth while a visit if you are in the area.

A wonderful exhibition, up there with the very best. We had planned on an hour or so, Herstory was so good that we took a lunch break and came back for more. Based on in depth research - much undertaken by the marvellous volunteers) - the working lives of these women emerged from the past: Hayle's National Explosive Works, J & F Pool war time munitions factory, the Cornish mining industry, the Cryséde silkworks, Harvey's of Hayle, as well as the creative arts, a champion swimmer, and Elizabeth Carne "geologist, conchologist, philanthropist and banker". The standard of display was exemplary, much care taken with layout and interpretation and use of font sizes (far superior to some larger cultural bodies in London!). The curator Daisy, and the volunteer at the front desk, shared how the exhibition had been put together and researched, which I was particularly interested in. A few months later we came back for Janet Axten's talk "Researching Crysede and Cresta", which threw light on until more recently only tantalising glimpses (to me anyway) of this silk company's past (I hadn't known about Cresta Silks workshops in Foundry Square).

Parked in local reserve and walked to Estuary. A fantastic view. Look forward to returning when there are more birds but what we saw was still good. Please mind the road when crossing on the bridge. Kingfishers were amazing.

Visited today for a tour of the brewery. Ross showed us round and we couldn’t believe that two hours had gone by the time the tour had finished. Really informative and presented with humour and knowledge by Ross. I say finished…Ross then presented us with five third of a pint tasters of the current beers. Fantastic! Really worth a visit!!
