The scenery was great, beautiful old trees with moss, plantations, beaches - even a few bridges to stop on and look for alligators or turtles... definitely worth doing with family and friends.
This is one of our favorite family activities on the island!! Great for all ages!! Just get back to your resort before it gets dark :-)!

This is one of my family favorite beach.I just love the idea of the runner which definitely helps with tracking less sand on the way out.The facilities are also convenient and accommodating. The vibe is great both...
You will be greeted by water fountains for the kids to play in, swings, restrooms and showers, restaurants, shopping, and a walkway that allows for easy access to the beach for strollers and wheelchairs.

We live in the south end of the island much closer to Holy Family Catholic Church but we travel to the north end to St Francis.
My family attended Sunday mass at St. Francis by the Sea Catholic Church and throughly enjoyed the experience.

Gregg Russell entertains in Harbor Town every night in the summer he interacts with the audience especially the children who love him.
The show has rarely changed, but Gregg is so entertaining, his gentleness, kindness, and child-like humor are winning combinations.

I am sure there is a lot more to be seen at Pickney Island for adults and older children who can hike farther or take the kayak tours.
We went for a hike to visit this National wildlife refuge with myself, my husband and our two teenage kids.

EXCELLENT ALLIGATOR TOUR @ HHI with Captain Anthony, the kids enjoy to see the 12 foot alligator, eagles, turtles and learn about HHI wildlife.
The preserve is large, but access is sufficient enough that it is suitable even for small children when walking short portions of the trails, biking, or motoring.

A lovely quiet hike out to the waterfront, accompanied by several species of birds (and a few bugs - take the spray!), kids had fun watching the antics of hundreds of hermit crabs, and a good history read.
Beautiful Spot for Family Pictures

This beautiful children's "museum" is a great place for little kids to play and explore.
I think it might be too limiting for most children over the age of eight, but our kids really enjoyed the variety and the layout of all the activities.

The have always been so helpful with recommending great books for all my kids, finding items, placing special orders from other libraries, and even check out assistance.
If you have a group of children,I highly suggest you call the Hilton Head Library and reserve time with Mr. Greg

There was a mom swinging her child and a meandering water canal to show the way water traveled on the island.
Fun for the whole family.

This is surrounded by old tall trees, so it takes some thought to realize it was a grand antebellum plantation home overlooking the sound and four children were raised in this structure.
When we stopped during a bike ride, our family enjoyed seeing the ruins.

Kids (11 and 9) enjoyed the nice trails and the wildlife we encountered.
