We did the entire loop and noticed that we were the only ones who did and now we know why 😅. Very boggy on the way back and the trail was a little difficult to navigate. They may have fixed the trail by now because they were flying in rock for the trail by helicopter when we were there.
One of the best views I have ever seen . I couldn’t get over how beautiful it was.

Went here today to get some information on short walks with our dog. The assistant was very knowledgeable and helped me a lot describing various walks and drives on the island. We will take on board some of his suggestions over the next couple of days before we go home.

Visited on Tuesday 05th September 2023 on Day 4 of the British Isles Discovery 10-Day Cruise on Ambience. Started and ended a tour of the North Island at Portree. The town was nice to walk around and we picked up our hire car from Morrisons of Skye Rather than pay the £70pp coach tour excursion price I thought why not pre-book a hire car! £70 for 24 hours inc insurance.

Visited on Tuesday 05th September 2023 on Day 4 of a British Isles Discovery 10-Day Cruise. From Portree, Skye we headed north on the circular coastal road (A855) to see the attractions on the route before circling back to Portree via the A87/ Uig. As we got back a bit earlier than expected I went back to Lealt Falls which we had missed on our first pass. Once there parking was free and straightforward, and there were two points to walk to. If you go left you have a coastal cliff top view of the sound. Turn right and you walk a bit further inland back toward the main road and a fairly new wooden viewing platform which provides a better view of both the falls and the valley towards the beach/sound. Worth a stop on any circular island tour

Very quaint. Good for tea and snacks. Small pace and highly walkable. The lump is an attraction but need to hike to get there.

We had a great afternoon at the Gin school. It was very interesting finding out about all the botanicals and which ones complimented each other to bring out the desired flavour.
Alister was good craic and kept us entertained while our own Gin was distilling.
We enjoyed the tasting of the Misty Isle Gins and getting to make our own special label for our own bottle to take home.
A very enjoyable experience. We are looking forward to tasting our own version GIn.

What a pleasant surprise this walk was. The views on the coastal section are marvellous, and make up for the slightly less exciting second half.

This was a lovely small shop with many local crafts. Good place to visit! The owner was very nice. Crafts reasonably priced.

The pots are very nice and pretty but very expensive. This is for the home made craft.
We find cheaper ones in back of Store which make very nice use for us.
Hard to find place but good for when rain is on Skype.

A steep slippy walk to get here about a half hour walk down but it was wet, if you're happy to do a bit of boulder climbing you will be rewarded. Beautiful views round to Kilt rock/Mealt Falls over to the old man of Storr and round the coast. Would be lovely on a sunny day

Take some time to stop and read the names and areas of the fallen. A small version of the Edinburgh Mercat Cross. Interestingly the memorial was constructed by local builder Thomas MacFarlane, whose only son John was the youngest person from Portree to die in WW1.
