What travellers are saying
- philipb310East Kilbride, UK16 contributionsLoch Katrine Eco Pods…We have just returned from a 3 night stay at the Eco Pods and would like to say what a fantastic place it is.The loch and surrounding areas are totally stunning with jaw dropping landscapes all around,we took bikes with us and cycled every day along the North Shore Road to Stromnalacher Pier and Cafe (well worth the effort but quite a hilly run if you aren’t too fit)
Our pod was very cozy with underfloor heating and en-suite bathroom with shower and heated towel rails.
Everything was first class with our accommodation and even got a welcoming pack with some goodies and wine for starting off.
Only one thing that might trouble some people is that there is a rule which requires dog owners to keep their dog on a lead within the pod area….we did notice a guy who had two very large and quite boisterous dogs that were allowed to run about the area…..staff appeared to turn a blind eye until I think a new arrival complained about it and an hour later the guy seemed to take the huff and left …..Your dogs might be your pride and joy but not everyone is a doggie lover so please respect the rules as some children might be frightened by your pooch……Staff should be proactively advising the rules.
Fantastic holiday and weather was also great for our stay..
Took a cruise on the Loch which is also a must do……a lot less noisy than Loch Lomond with no jet skiing and pleasure craft so we will definitely be back againWritten 20 May 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - Jen Ramsey13 contributionsWhat a fantastic place to walk, walk the dogs safely off lead, get great views and foot access to Loch Lomond( albeit a steep walk from the park down and back), and enjoy the glorious spring colours of the trees and flowers !!! So beautifulWritten 22 May 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- UncleDadsDunfermline, UK253 contributionsIf you walk from Callander this is quite a steep uphill path but you can park nearby and the path is a bit easier. Very muddy and slippy path in a couple of places so you would need to be careful on a wet day.
Actual falls are OK - nothing terribly spectacular but not awful either. The bridge across the falls is demolished so you can't walk the path on the other side anymore.Written 8 May 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - Babyface JFife, UK246 contributionsFirst time visiting Ben A’an and it was very good experience and took me an hour to get up there. Very difficult steeps, best time when weather is dried and early morning for pay car park just opposite the start path. £2 for an hour and £5 for 3 hours, best for 3 hours. Lovely view of large loch.Written 30 April 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- alibatty🦇Dundee, UK4,704 contributionsCertainly worth a visit if you’re in the vicinity. It’s just a short forestry walk from the car park to the 30ft falls, and I’d imagine that in full spate they’d be pretty magnificent. Scenery’s a little bare and brown this time of year ( end of March) but once all the greenery fills in it will be an even more alluring beauty-spot.Written 2 April 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Dave A16 contributionsWe had a fantastic visit. The flying shows are great and the falconers are truly passionate and knowledgable about the birds. Well worth a visit to see these magnificent animalsWritten 22 May 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- WorldwideRover007United States2,777 contributionsA day out. There is parking, picnic tables, a small mall, cafe, zip line, beach and area to camp. There are trails to walk and multiple areas to watch the water. Dogs are welcome. The mall is small but offers diversity of food and gifts.Written 25 April 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Pickled Prawn travelsGlasgow, UK30 contributionsWe camped at three lochs drive permit site C. Contrary to other reviews we really enjoyed our camp here! Views were stunning and was lovely and quiet.
Scenery on the drive through was lovely although nothing you wouldn’t see elsewhere in the trosachs. Would definitely camp here again but wouldn’t overly recommend the drive as an attract unto itself!Written 17 April 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - WaddlerYork, UK9,575 contributionsThere are a couple of parking areas (payment required) at the southern end on stony beaches with picnic benches. A nice spot for lunch.
At one of these there is the Cabin takeaway/kiosk too.
Its one of the more scenic lochs in the trossachs, I think, though doesn't compete with some of the scenery further north.Written 25 April 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - Albert BBirmingham, UK73 contributionsPlace very nice to stop at boat rides beach area dog friendly lovely houses a must to see and walk to church and river could spend all day thereWritten 19 April 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- carinebv78Canoas, Brasil4 contributionsKids loved, so I am happy because of that! The animals seem week taken care of. I really don't understand about sea life, but turtles don't need a space to stop sometimes? Has a big turtle without one of the flippers and I think it doesn't has a space for stop swimming sometimes. Just an observation... And I think the cinema could be a space with something different, more enjoyed, because almost all the is empty. Just a suggestion.Written 9 May 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- John508598Campbeltown, UK39 contributionsDropped in for a look having read about the interesting and award winning beer being brewed on site to be met by the family all chipping in to produce some of the finest beer I have had the pleasure of tasting in the last few years. Easy to miss on the industrial estate but worth the effort to find. Bought four types of beer and have tried three different types none of which have disappointed. If you enjoy beer and want to try something different then it is recommended that you look out this little treasure.Written 16 August 2017This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- itchyfeet2014Glasgow, UK2,175 contributionsWe stumbled across this walk by accident on our visit to Luss. Well known for being one of the most beautiful villages in Scotland, the faerie trail is a nice addition. The path and various attractions along the way were really good. Having the river part of the way is a bonus. The trail is circular, so we ended up back in the village.
Worth a visit.Written 21 May 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - SStravellerLondon, UK13 contributionsThe team was very friendly and helpful about the local area as well as recommending stop off points on our way to Oban. Cant recommend them enough. Thank you.Written 24 August 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
