I would highly recommend for families with children as there are lots of safe scrambles and incredible viewpoints, caves, slots, sand, everything really.
You can climb (safely) on the formations, so fun for kids and great photo-ops.

Just down from the main picnic area is a short trail (head east) to the river - there is a fantastic spot to take your kids and enjoy the river and can be done with or without the hike to the waterfall.
Gorgeous scenery, immense history, easy to hike trail, family friendly.

Reminds me of the story from India where the children each describe an elephant and only talk about 1 part of it each.
Good for families with children old enough to scramble just a bit on a rock.
