Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Amazing! The wild ponies alone are worth the trip. We traveled from Swansea by bus and it took about an hour. An awesome bus trip down very windy roads, but so very cool. Don't miss this place!

Stunning beach. We came here recently for a dog walk and it is absolutely beautiful. The coastline is stunning and there are so many walks you can do around here. The beach is so expansive I can’t ever imagine it feeling crowded

This is expensive to park if you have any vehicle over 6’
However I already knew it would cost that much so got my head around that so we knew when we got there, the nice man on the gate was clearly relieved not to be given a hard time and he let me drop my husband and ‘stuff’ off the drive and park about 300 yds away, that was fine , I could pick him and everything up before we left.
It’s such a lovely bay totally dog friendly and most important for us very accessible
Yes it’s pricey but honestly no more or rather less than a bottle of wine in a pub and I felt it was worth it to enjoy a peaceful bay with plenty of room for very few people and we loved it.

We were a little confused as to why the beach was empty at the height of summer holidays. Such a beautiful beach. Cheap hotel in town centre that was a 10min walk from beach. Mumbles is 20 min drive away and the stunning Gower beaches 30 mins. Oakwood is only 45 muns away with after dark colour festival and fireworks on weds and Sat. Swansea city is a little neglected. A lot of closed businesses including bed and breakfast which was sad to see. Book your stay and support this beautiful area. The swimming was great fun with all the slides and wave machine.

We stayed in the Limeslade apartments, the bay itself is small but the area around it has lots of benches to admire the view and wonderful sunsets.

A small bay that has everything that can only be reached by walking for 10-15 minutes down a track and then a footpath that gets muddy when it has been raining. The final descent to the beach is a bit tricky so can only be attempted by people and children who are reasonably fit. The beach is popular with dog owners dogs are permitted all year round. The beach is narrow and covered in rounded rocks at the top. As the tide goes out, a mixture of rock and sand is uncovered. Finally, at low tide, there is currently quite a wide sandy beach that is great for water sports, as well as rock pools to explore. Don't bother to go there with children unless the tide is low. Check the tide tables before you start out.

Parked in the National Trust Car Park at Southgate (£4 for 2 hours) and walked down to this lovely little sandy cove. Great for dogs and kids if you don’t want to walk too far with them.

From here we walked to Three Cliffs Bay along the coastal path, on the way back we took a slight detour which bought us by the golf club and up to the main road as we think we went a bit wrong! Still a nice walk back through the village, past the local pub, café, toilets, etc. Little did we know that we would be returning to the pub just a short time later.

Joining other reviewers on the car parking point as we too got a fine for inadvertently under-paying. Top tip: ensure you make a note of your precise arrival time. When you go to pay, if as we did, you enter your reg no. and the machine says “5 hours..£3.50” do NOT assume this is how much is due. You apparently need to use the “+” button to proactively adjust the time and amount to match your stay. At time of writing it’s £5 for over 5 hours. If you’re not absolutely sure whether you’re within 5 hours or not, suggest paying the extra £1.50 to be safe. The fine is £60 (£100 if not paid within 14 days of the date of the letter), no number to call, just a burdensome written appeals process etc.

On a happier note, the ice cream we got from the cart in the car park was the best all holiday - genuine Italian-standard, highly recommend.
