The venue is really good, the staff are welcoming and friendly, it is clean and tidy, it has a café and good amount of faculties. It is quite close to pay and display car parks as well. - Michael TBarnet, UK77 contributionsSadly, this is my second negative review in 3 weeks. Today - Sunday 28th May, I went with some friends for lunch. Being a lovely sunny Sunday, it was obviously busy, but we were shown to our table quickly, and the girl took our drinks order. For my meal, I ordered Roast Beef. When it arrived, it was so rare, I'm sure it was walking about 10 minutes ago ! I tried some, but couldn't eat it - it wouldn't even cut properly. I told the girl and she came back with replacement meat. Sadly, this was hardly any better, so I summoned her again and explained the problem - it was clear to see how raw it was. I said they would have to adjust the bill. She came back and offered us free desserts, BUT, they have removed Lemon Meringue Pie - previous review !, so I refused and said they would have to do better than that ! The girl then came back and said they would take my whole meal off the bill, which I accepted.
What a sad experience, twice in a row. It's such a shame as I really love the place and have always, except my last visit, had lovely meals there.
I will go again, and hopefully the beef might be cooked properly, but be warned, there seems to be some underlying problem there.

It's a bit of a walk from the town but was a nice pub to visit. - Ilovecake0Bedford, UK69 contributionsLast minute birthday meal idea - booked at 2.30 on Sunday afternoon- Within half an hour we were sat at our table! Friendly welcome, great choice of food (some of us chose a traditional roast, some chose burgers or steak). Food well cooked and presented in a nice atmosphere.
Only downside was no drinks menu on the tables so we paid ÂŁ18 for two glasses of wine where it might have been more economical to buy a bottle.
